No game password, IP address is <expletive deleted>. Pick any available civ, just please make sure your in-game name is vaguely similar to your CDZ or CFC nick and password your civ so I can mark you down as having tested successfully.
This server (and thus IP) is different than the one I'm putting up in the CFC OT forum, so please either test on this one or that one but not both. Each one has 16 open slots.
And successfully testing does not guarantee a spot in the BtS pitboss games I'm going to be running, but it is a prerequisite for signing up.
Also, please don't quote this post, I want to be able to edit out the IP later. Yes I'm paranoid, but it's either that or I can't run any pitboss games at all. [sad]
Edit: IP deleted, I'm taking this pitboss server offline for the moment.

How will you determine the people who play...first come first in or what?

I'm going to leave it up for at least a few days - no immediate reason to take it back down.
I don't know how I'm going to determine who plays. If the CDZ grouphug game finishes soon then I'll have another pitboss server, at which point I'll be able to do one CFC OT game, one CDZ game, and one tournament game (all BtS) - I can't imagine that we've got so many potential players as to turn anyone away from all of them.

I've ordered BtS off of BestBuy.com and selected store pickup (if you have it shipped to you it's backordered [lol]). So when the store opens up in 3 hours and 15 minutes, my copy of it should be pulled off of the shelf and held for me until after work. I'll install it post haste and then check my connectivity

I dont really want Babylon though of course. You know Advance Start is bugged, right? You can buy/sell population for infinite money?
Works fine here too, actually loaded like lightning compared to My Warlords pitboss games.

Yeah this is a test game, civ selection in this doesn't matter.
I hadn't heard that advanced start is bugged, even with 3.02?

I just installed BtS and tried to connect and got the following: The version of our critical game files do not match our hosts. Cannot join game!

Probably missing the 3.02 patch, check www.firaxis.com to download it.

I just checked that and was too quick to fire off a message before seeing if there was a patch, sorry
advanced start seems to work ok on the one scenario i tried, maybe its different cos of a scenario
anyways logged in fine and hit enter.

It is still bugged (just checked). Start an advanced start game, settle your city, and add one pop, then right click and take away one pop. Your total gold increases by 1.... add one pop for x gold, and the next pop to be added costs x+1 gold. If you delete the pop point, it forgets you added it for x cost so it adds x+1 to your treasury when you take away from the pop of the city. You could easily add pop to your city to 100 and then take away back to 2 and get several hundred extra gold. Not incredibly gamebreaking but something to watch out for.
Also just been playing a game, since when we're great generals allowed to build acadamy's (military kind) before MT or is it MS now?
maybe this is a change but could be quite a bug for when we start playing if someone has an early war!

Tentatively, yes. Though if running multiple pitboss instances on a single Celeron800 machine (for the tournament) is problematic, it might not happen. And if it does, it'll start a few weeks after the CFC game at the earliest.

I have 0 experience with PitBoss so I don't know how to log in.
I tried: Multiplayer -> Direct IP -> Fill in IP and Connect and then I got this error:

I think people are seeing this thread as the starter "Gloo's CDZ pitboss game" thread when in actuality I intended it to point where anyone could test out their BtS multiplayer and get ready for the OT CivIVor BtS game.
The CDZ game will be in a few weeks to a month. I'll be starting the tournament before I start the CDZ game. There will be separate threads started for both of them.
And yes, I'm feeling better this morning. :)

It doesn't matter Tubby whether that game at that other site has started already (which AFAIK isn't the case because there is a voting on whether to use Advanced Start or not), I will have killed you when you first log in anyway...

Check your CFC PMs, it launched three hours ago.
And the one that started is the "CivIVor: BtS" game. The two test games I had running (one is still up I think) are just test games, they're not real (particularly given that they're OCC "Always peace" games). [col]

the problem is that I can't access CFC @ work anymore and time is limited at home so I don't get a chance to check it often and when I do it's read and get offline :(

By the way, is anyone that is not currently playing in the CivIVor: BtS willing to act as a referee for the game? Whomp did it for me in a previous game, and this one should be even easier given the DM rule in place. Making a ruling on something or other every month or three is a huge help to me since I don't have to make the decision on something that I may well have a bias about, also being a player.
I'd be willing if there's nobody here at CDZ free. What would need doing ?
if ID doesnt object i'll fill you in, basically nothing, maybe having to judge on a ruling every now and then- last game my units were outside some guys cities and then he gifted them to another player- we asked whomp to intervene and the conflict was resolved :)

Whups, posted in the wrong thread earlier.
I've taken down the test game advertised in the start of this thread, and soon (couple weeks maybe?) will start on the tourney idea. I'm thinking though that it may be worthwhile to hold off on it until Firaxis fixed the Advanced Start problem.
