Well perhaps starting this a bit late, anywhoo.
Within the first few turns i established a long lasting peace with akots-lines of no settle/etc, so i pretty much have that land border secure for the rest of the game.

Well i started off settling my capital where it was and as we started off with another settler i sent it off north to grab copper/iron/gems.

Then using my imperialistic trait it was quite easy to crank out a couple of settlers and found them

great folk will obviously be my-great person place, 3 food resources and a couple of hills and lots of forest to build anything i might need-might not even have to whip there, kaboom i'll probably just cottage all of it.
planning on fitting another 2 cities into the iberian peninsula, another one north of em and another one south of it, though im waiting untill after math before i start building more as i'll just chop them out- one forest will equal i think 60 hammers :D

i have meli beneath me as mali, so after settling a couple more cities im going to praet rush him, should be fairly easy as he recently got turned to AI, coupled with me being quite far ahead of some people in the 'ol tech rate from what i can gather.
Ok so i havent updated this one for awhile. Seeing as im quite bored i figured i would :) plus i noticed darkness comment in beams spoiler so i guess some people not playing the game would be interested- i took quite a few pictures.
Anywhoo, Great folk did pop a scientist like i hoped, founded taoism the turn after i founded confucianism. Started research on civil service which i completly at 625BC (the turn before i got back) this turn then i switched to hereditry rule and bearo. Thats why you can't see research etc.

Been quite a lot of activity in the whole wonder building fun and games recently, akots getting four in a row (HG, greatlib, great wall and pyramids), beam got the latest (temple of artemis) that seems to have propelled him to beating me in the 'ol 'race for the best gnp'-that race just doesnt end- so i switched to bearo and im back on top again! :)

I thought i had a screenie of the gnp race from what i can see basically im absolutly whooping my nearest neighbours in that aspect, akots being the closest but now i think about 40 gnp away- though i have no doubt he has plans up his sleave running representation and having the great lib.

My plan right now, after finishing the settler in the capital is to produce another praet there by which time i should have MC, so can start on a forge and get the colossus on the go- i dont doubt that i wont be the first to get there but what with the insane production i'll have in my capital i think i have a worthy chance of getting it. then i'll backfill a little- (upto mono, hunting) and then start on the path to lib to get that free tech as early as possible!

mainly just building the basics right now, i don't have many high food sites so im trying to keep the whip away as much as possible right now, will probably brandish it soon enough though- especially with the newly founded cities.
Lucky for me(though we had agreed if one of us got a religion the other would have it) akots got confuc, from there he spread it nicely for me :)

this has really stirred the pot in the main thread- people seem offended that id scout with such a unit! Especially Shabbababababababababababaman ;)
Recently been speaking to shabba about diplo a lot, about 10 turns ago i told him to watch out for cane in the south, he brushed it off questioning what he was going to attack with 'sand' now it appears he's building cats by the bucketload so im guessing there'll be a war in africa soon and like everybody who knows history knows- when there's a war in Africa the west profits, well as im the west and robboo is non existant in America im the one who shall be profiting :D

Shit, its been awhile, only just got the internet set up so i'll try and do an update in the coming week- quite a bit has changed elsewhere but the roman empire remains constant, something i'll have to do something about.

Ok whingers here you go.
So i didn't get the colossus like i planned i was building it for a few turns but then beam got it, on the plus side i did get liberalism and its free tech- i took nationalism and polished off the taj lickety split - got a nice GA for myself. But thats getting ahead of myself.
So when i last updated the spoiler i'd filled up mainland europe and got a nice beach head on Africa for myself, well i continued to expand- slightly slower than i had been before but nevertheless expand.

I filled up England and Scotland first then awhile later mauer founded a city on Ireland for me

Then things progressed i didn't really do much i just kept beelining for communism, i lost my place as top mfg and as top food producer to robi fairly close to this time as him and akots had a battle for territory, however for the most part i've been on top with gnp.

For this reason i assume i'm ahead in techs, even though the f4 chart says this, akots seems to be the only person thus far who seems to have a few techs on me that i'd like

But then i noticed the shabba/casey war had been going on for an enternity and i started thinking 'yeah i'd like some of that action, what if i want to war with matrix later? im going to need some cities down there to house my troops' So i decided to move against casey.

I only ended up taking two of his cities, shabba destroyed hs capital and matrix destroyed another one, then up steps my ability to produce settlers at the near speed of light plus my ability (as in universal suffrage) to buy the damn things, i closed up the gaps.

So now we get to the turn i've discovered communism, i'm in free speach, universal suffrage, free religion, emancipation (and i have been for awhile so the other civs must be starting to feel that soon) and free trade-whats the next logical choice? to build the kremlin!
If your running a CE then kremlin is the wonder for you, its effectivly all you have to build all game except cottages- it's just downright awesome. -33% of build costs on everything- yes please!
Basically im going to get Assemply line and be able to buy factoris/coal plants and complete my industrial revolution in about 10 turns what with my +800gpt right now which will undoubtably go up before kremlin is even finished. As im tech leader and have such a large gnp i think i can afford to take the time out of research to set my gnp to 0% for a few turns and crank out the factories- most cities have a bank/grocer/market or at least 2 of the 3 in readyness for this event i havent been concentrating on the universities just yet.

I'm expecting to build a theatre and a temple to add another couple of GP's to the pot- the GP i least want to get is an artist obviously but im sure i could find a use for it, whilst if i got a priest i could put it in my confuc city and then build wall street there, if i don't get hold of a prophet within ~50 turns then i'll just make my oxford city my oxford/wall st city- my oxford city in this game is Cockerneyville (London)

My worries for the future-
I'm only 5th largest land (i think) with only one what i would term as a good production site, that means if the 4 people above me decide to cotttage a bit they could quite easily overtake me, robi seems to have some excellant production sites so im trying to pursuade akots and shabba to go and lay the smack down on him.
My other option is war with matrix-we just signed a treaty till 1500ad but thats not that far away and by that point i could have tanks whilst his gnp on the graph indicates he's not going to have infantry by that point, matrix seems to have a couple of good production sites but he hasn't used them so much yet and the cities are small.
The third and last option is to start churning some of my cottages into workshops and when i need to start building my spaceship switch to state property, this will undoubtably happen anyways but right now im uncertain about the extent to which i want this to happen as it'll cut my research down a fair way.

Yea, not bad, although you confused me for a min or two when you mentioned GNP farm and you were'nt using the cottages sqaure, then i relised you meant GP farm.
There always the option of some thermo nuclear action against RobiD

She appears in everygame, this is the only one she's interested in because it has gems....
