In 5 minutes I'm off. I got a ring, I got wine with bubbles, I got a nice suit.
All I need is a "Yes".

She lives only 10 minutes away from here. As soon as I got the YES, I went home in about 20 minutes. Actually, I did so because I had to show my face on the hockey field at 16:00.
No, not the most romantic way to go. But trust me, the simple fact I really bought a ring is already miles beyond average Stapel romanticism.

Heh...

I just hope the "fancy suit" wasn't your theedansoutfit (fyi, "hockey clothes") ;)

12? It was a plastic ring? Or did you win one at a fancy fair after spending 12 euro's?

The date will be 15 may 2008 for the offical craphola, followed by a dull grandparents dinner. The party will be on 17 may 2008, which is coincidentally my 35th birthday.

I might consider inviting a bunch of CDZ-ers for the party :) .

I never understood prolonged engagements. This coming from the guy that got married a week and a half after saying "Let's git marreed". Out of curiosity, what made you guys decide on a year from now?

It appears to take some time to get things arranged. Not that we need to wait a year, but getting married in the spring seems ok.

We were engaged for only 7 months and we were very lucky that the beautiful location we had for the party was still available.

But we thought it was silly as well. But we got engaged in april, and the end of september was the limit climate-wise. Eventually we were lucky with the weather too. We could just as well have had the party on a cold rainy day at a mediocre pub. [tongue]

For me the main reason was that we wanted to get married in November/December so X-mas would be during our honeymoon. So it was either within 2 months or 14 months. 2 months was just too short to get everything organised so it was 14 months.
