Well, it is hard to believe, but I have officially turned in my doctoral thesis an hour ago! [estwing]

And now?

[party]?
[drunks1]?
[shag]?
[sleep]?


I'd especially need th last, but no: Rita and I will go to a Geburtsvorbereitungskurs (birth preparation course - yes, I am German ;)). FUN! ALl weekend! People talking about tearing and labor and drinking hospital tea and I'll have to pretend I have pelvic floor musculature [whipped][aargh][aargh][aargh]

Congrats, when will the presentation be (assuming you have to defend your thesis like in NL)?

YEAH !! Congratulations ! [thumbsup] You must be proud at this point.

You also have to present your thesis in France, not sure it is "defend" (or is it considered the same ?).

Well, I do not really 'have to'. I had to give a public talk, and there will be an oral exam. Theoretically all of paleontology, but in reality, it will start with my thesis and then drift off.

and excellent news today: both reviewers gave me a 'summa cum laude'. Now the thesis has to be reviewed by a thrid, external reviewer, whom I already know, and who knows me, and who said to me on the ophone that he thinks my work is 'as good as it gets'.....

yeah, he is a good friend and already told me that the only correction he'd ever do was 'up' ;)



In other news: the external version was successful, the baby is not head-down. She is also quite large, especially the skull (my heritage :(), so a cesarean is not totally out of question.
But at least a natural birth is still possible.
