Ok, after having a million seperate conniptions, and talking through the specs with about a dozen people, I've finally got this game up and running.
Settings were balanced, large, 16 civs, eh..I forgot the rest. none the less the seats are open, and it's a first come first serve basis, and it's WARLORDS. Civs are as follows: Those in Red are taken.
Engilsh
Zulu
Chinese
Japanese
America
French
Mongols-mauer
Aztec
Rome
Spain
Carthage-Jericho
Germany
Celts
India-BCLG

Im timing out. Any ideas?
Well, crud. More conniptions I suppose. Anyone else able to get in?
Hmm, not sure what to do now. It's on civstats as CDZ Powah. That shows it's connected, so I'm clueless....
Your firewall might be stopping us...
This is absolutely maddening. I spose I shoulda had someone test that before I posted it [crazyeye]
Anyways, I thought that's what I've been doing all that port forwarding for, so that I wouldn't have to disable the firewall. oh man, it's sooo close. At least I can play a pitboss with myself ...lol
maybe you can win that way....[assw]
you will figure it out.....

You do have to disable your PC's software firewall, or it'll still block connections forwarded from your hardware router/firewall on port 2056.
Edit: and Civstats uploading will work even if you haven't got your firewall set up properly, as it is an outbound-only connection.
can i be india? just incase im not around to 'grab' later.
OK, this should be cleared up then. Anyone grabs India other than BC is gonna be uprooted. Hope you all can get in.

Can't get in either...
"The connection attempt to the host has timed out"
buwhahaha....this is all an evil plot just to get everyone's hope up for a new pitboss game! Just kidding...I have no idea what the problem is. I've done everything that that I've been told by those with experience or know how. If anyone has any more suggestions or any more know how, then I'd soytanly be up to listening.

dont worry folks im on the job helping out! :D
well guys, sorry to get everyone's hopes up, but it would seem that getting this setup is beyond my capabilities. I've tried as much as I can to get it, sent PM's to nearly half a dozen "techies" and talked to tech support for my router. It's just apparently not gonna happen. Sorry again, although I wanted this as much as all of you.
Hey guys, I started a new thread over at CFC here---->http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=210478
Hopefully we'll get a fix.

You might try here too:

And come to think of it, you opened 2056 TCP, did you also open 2056 UDP?
Also, I'd suggest removing the 2057 business entirely - getting it to work internally is not half the work that getting it to work externally is, so in the interest of making sure that the combination isn't the problem, better to get the tougher one working first and then tackling the easier element of the problem.
As soon as I get home I'll give that a try by doing away with the 2057 rule. I opened both for 2056 as well. should it just be UDP?

Having both 2056 TCP and 2056 UDP redirected to your pitboss server should work.
Is there an option for allowing "ping" (ICMP, as opposed to TCP or UDP) forwarded to your pitboss server? That'd help if that were open too, from a troubleshooting standpoint.
If someone is home and wants to try this, then go for it.
ID- I didn't see anything with that option.
EDIT: By "try this", I meant if someone wants to test the connection again.
Double EDIT: ID, I disabled the forwarding of 2057 and I can still connect to the game.
well i'm back from holidays, if there is still an opening i'm happy to join in the fun
Sure Robi, feel free to join when/if I can ever get this thing running.
anyone test it yet..?
I couldnt last night due to company over and way to many "beverages"
I don't think anyone has tried it yet.
I will give it a try later on today if i can get home in teh next hour or so.
nope it timed out....
maybe check your IP address again...check for a typo?

The IP is the one thing I'm sure about. Oh well, if I can ever get this figured out, I'll start a new thread.
dang it mauer...I ought to challenge you and take it our on you in a PBEM.
mauer seems to have a tendancy to not send my saves back *hint**hint*

Have you tried to contact Take2? There was a problem with a Pitboss that I am in and ever since the starter got to them, the problem has been solved for most people, so it might be good to tell them everything that is wrong and see if they can help fix it.
Haven't tried Take2 yet. I may get to that tomorrow. Simon, I checked and I don't have a save in my email. It's possible that I deleted it though on accident, so would you mind sending it again? Rob, I'll let you beat me again if you wanna.
Mauer....as soon as I get an opening and we both have time. I would gladly let you try to get revenge.
Just sent an email to Take2. Should get some kind of feedback from them soon.
Hi @ll. I know Mauer from the Civfanatics Forum and he invited me to his Pitboss Game. Since he couldn't figure out how to set it up I would like to make the server hosting.
