Civ IV Pitboss: CDZ grouphug

We are in the middle of some kind of World War...

It is 1170 AD and if you are still alive and in the game at that point then please leave NOW or my mighty Praetorians....






In post 2 I will post a summary of the history thus far.





And post 3 will show some pics of the current situation...



I am playing as Caesar of the Romans.

The world is a Pangaea.


There were 13 civs at the beginning.

BTW this was my first CivIV mulitplayer game ( I have yet to finish one)

I got a map from an early hut. So I saw grs capital.
I decided to be brave as aI knew I could get a 2nd warrior quite fast there, so I declared war on grs.
While I was waiting for my 2nd warrior, grs decided to attack my warrior and lost at 50-50 chance. So I eliminated grs quite early and got his capital.

I couldn't quite make a real use of that for a long time cause I didn't play really carefully.
Still I got a nice chunk of land.

The game was quiet for some time, then some civs decided to attack Matrix (IIRC Matrix first declared on BCLG but then got fastly trashed by several civs, some even not allied with BCLG)

Then after some moe quietness, IglooDude attacked BCLG.
Whomp and grahamiam declared on Darkness.
Barbu declared on Dave who is located to my South. As I was ready for a war, I declared on Dave too and fastly got the Confucian holy city which was close to my border.

RegentMan (who is located to my SouthWestern side) decided to also attack Dave to get his piece in that war.
If I am not mistaken, RM razed one of Dave's city but Barbu has problems taking a city.
Meanwhile my stack has captured Dave's capital with no problems.

I am leading in land and in power. I have only lost one Praetorian and one cat in this war by now. The next city I'll take is a little bit better defended.

Dave has completely gone. I got 3 cities. After that barbu traded with me...he gave me 200 gold if he could get the final two towns of Dave.

The most SE one I didn't even want and Aryan would have been ok, but I left it to him.

I am still leading in power...

There are some things happening.
I declared war on Tubby and then saw that barbu already did so the turn before.

I quickly captured two cities.

BTW, RegentMan has captured that holy city (don't know where his units came from) and razed the holy city, what a waste...

Tubby is gone, krys has taken his last city for me a few turns after that.

I have declared war on Darkness who is already under pressure from grahamiam and whomp.
Sadly, ID gave him Cavs s.t. he was able to fight off my surprise stack of a few Cavs.
But I am sending him something which he has problems fighting off...

I have capture Guangzhou in the second try. Darkness is down to 1 or 2 cities.

I don't know at the moment when it exactly happened, ID has razed my capital Rome via a double move (he landed some units at the end of the one turn, waited for the turnchange and attacked) Didn't see the ships coming and it was the only city that I didn't have enough decent defense. York is now my capital which is not that bad anyway.

Couldn't attack Darkness further ( I have actually attacked a second city which was then captured by grahamiam), as there were other things to do then....

Then, barbu declared war on me.

He managed to raze two rather unimportant towns.
He then captured Nottingham which I immediately got back.
Now I have Infantry but he doesn't s.t. his mighty Cossacks are not that threatening.
I razed a middle sized border town and now I am going for a cut-off city which is in former Tubbyland.

RM declared war on me too when babru was on the offense.
He razed "Founded by Krys" which was close to his border.
He played defensively then, he lacks Infantry too.

He has a lot of units, I am concentrating on barbu first for the moment. Most of his units are probably outdated.

Quite a challenge you got there. They all probably figured out you're the biggest threat for them all.

What about your diplomatic relations? Any friends you have in particular?

Don't know why whomp changed it for a day? Did you replace him or did he replace you somewhere else (and has forgot to change the name?)

Haven't I written my diplomatic situation here yet?
Seems so.

I am allied with grahamiam and whomp to my north. We did that long time ago when especially the alliance Tubby/Dave/Darkness/ID was running away.

We are the only ones to have Infantry at the moment and thus I guess, there is a good chance that one of us will win.

I have a NAP with Robboo which we have done before barbu attacked me. I am at peace with BCLG who is weak and far away.

With the other 4 (ID, Darkness, RM and barbu) I am still at war.

barbu and RM probably understimated my capability of bringing defense to my cities, although I must say their timing wasn't that bad.

I have removed barbu's outlying city and founded one of my own a little closer to my homeland.

Sadly, barbu and RM have Infantry too, so I went to defense mode until some better units are around.

The war is still going on at 1932 AD.

BCLG started the nuking with 12 in one turn (6 on grahamiam 6 on Whomp)
I have launched quite a few and barbu nuked me.

The world is slow but steadily turning into a desert...

And RM is almost gone. We are the only ones with MechInfs, but all other have tanks.

krys will take over for me for a few days and hopefully kill what is left of RM.

Awesome game Ynnek!!! I couldn't ask for better partners in this game. I'm pretty confident I was the main beneficiary of the alliance.
