Basically the Vanilla version with all the 2 leader civs teamed up against the rest. Igloodude is playing the Aztec/Inca as thanks for setting up a server for us.

Now to the first turn, Asoka first
The settlers on a spot where sheep, crabs and rice will be in the cross, also gets rid of the jungle so i see no need to move

I also see a village and go in with the warrior. For my troubles i get 33 gold

Apart from Igloodude i'm the only one with Mystism to start with. Also ID has played his turn and not founded a city with the Incas so i'm pretty much a safe bet for Meditation. And not being adverse to some extra culture to expand the borders and some extra happiness to i go for it.
Now with Ghandi i've got cows, rice and a river, which is good enough for me so the settler builds on the spot. With both leaders combined Meditation will take 8 turns.

IIRC ours civs have an island to themselves, so after meditation i'll set one to research fishing and sailing while the other does bronze working. Here is the satelite view of the Indian Federation

About 5 turns have gone now, nothing much has happened. My warriors have had a bit of a look around and i can't complain about a lack of resources.

Asoka's India will have a warrior quicker while Ghandi's warrior has found what looks like a land bridge, so i will continue going down the land bridge while moving Asoka's warrior to Connor City.
Interestingly barbu didn't settle until turn 3 with one settler and turn 4 with the other. I can only imagine he has place his cities close together. It a bit of a risk but we will see what happens.
As for me i've been putting some thought into my tactics. Both Asoka and Ghandi are spritual but Asoka is organised and Ghandi Industrious. To maximise their traits i'm thing assymetric development is the best. Asoka gets -50% city upkeep and cheap courthouses so i thinking of letting Asoka have twice as many cities as Ghandi, while Ghandi can be used to build any wonders i may build. I have 2 wonders in mind, one is stonehenge because if i can get a religion it will give me G.Prophet points so i can get a shrine built. The other is pyramids, because being able to run any government civics would be a big bonus especially police state and uni. suffarge.

Both are researching Meditation to get Buddism. After that i'm a bit torn. I see fishing, sailing, agriculture, animal husbandry and bronze working as imporant to get given my position. Ok a quick update. I'm 2 turns away from Meditation and my only possible competion IglooDude discovered another tech this turn so Buddhism is more or less mine. After a chat with Whomp (so we know who to blame if it doesn't work[tongue]) the research plan is this.
After Meditation is done Asoka will research fishing while Gandhi takes on BW. After Asoka is finished fish he will join Gandhi in finishing BW, then after thats done Agr and AH will go next. The main reason for pushing BW as the main priority is that there is 18 civs on a standard map hence everyone is close. Fishing will open up the sea which will help boost gold for asoka who isn't getting any from the land. Hopefully it all works out

It's Holy city is Robigrad in Asoka's India which i was kind of hoping for, that way when Gandhi hopefully build Stone Henge both cities will get culture flowing to increase the borders.

Asoka now onto Fishing which will take 9 turns.
Gandhi has started BW which will take 20 turns at present but Asoka will switch to BW after fishing so that will speed up. Also Connor City is only the 2nd one to hit a pop of 2.

The warrior which headed south has reached a junction of sorts. I'm not quite sure whether i should continue to search for someone or just stay there.

Really? They are done through imageshack, but i've never gotten a dating site popup, only party poker or some other thing from time to time.
Its now 3280BC. Asoka has finished with Fishing and joined Gandhi in researching BW, which is now due in 6.

I've started planning locations for future cities. Its still fairly tentative and will probably change a bit. Still haven't met anyone although the animals seem happy enough to take on my warrior who barely survived but now has a promotion.

I have just discovered Bronze Working and have started Agriculture which i will have in 5 turns.
I also found BCLG actually he found me, but with a border expansion i saw something i didn't like.

Gandhi is going along well, and my explore has survived a number of close enounters with animals and is having a well earned rest.

Ok i've got Agriculture and am doing Animal Husbandry. Both Indias have a fast worker.
Robigrad is getting a mine with its worker. I am building a workboat as i want to get a settler asap and get the copper hooked up so i can build some decent units.

Connor City has its worker getting the rice farmed. Its building Stonehenge since i do not see more warriors really helping and i can always switch to other things in between if its required. My Scout has skipped BC's branch and is going up the next one.

All in all i'm taking a couple of risks, but if i can pull them off i'll be in a good position, if not then i'll probably crash and burn. The problem for me at the moment is there is only one copper source, which means they will have to share it. There's 2 way i can see doing it, via the trade screen, but that runs the risk of not being able to give it back in case of emergency because of the min turns for a trade. The other way which i'm favouring is Asoka build spears and axes to gift to Gandhi while Gandhi builders the settlers/cities for Asoka.
Any ideas/suggestions welcome on this dilemma.
That 2nd method seems like a good idea, though as you say it certainly isn't an ideal way of getting your units produced. Still better than facing the 10 turn minimum limit indeed though, I suppose.
Yeah there is no easy way to do it. My only consolation is since akots made the map i'm assuming everyone will be facing the same dilemma. I guess the other thing to do is research Iron Working and hopefully find iron near by which would reduce the problem

Its been a while since the last update. We did have 10 days off for Christmas/New Year so it hasn't gone as quickly.
Since the last update i have researched Animal Husbandry and The Wheel which i finished last turn. I'm now doing Hunting for Spearman.
I've got the Copper mined so its just a matter of hooking it up. Here's a view of Robigrad

AH revealed horses not to far away. I back to building a monastary(beakers + missionaries), i'm thinking of finishing it because Connor City can build settlers faster and has forest to chop. Also it has just finished Stone Henge so i will get a GP for my shrine. Here's a view of Connor City

Again horses are nearby. The plan at the moment after hunting i'll do sailing, then depending on the circumstances Pots or IW. Connor city will produce settlers for both, after Gandhi founds a city it can be gifted to Asoka.
Finally my scout after getting half way down the branch next to BCLG found IglooDude's scout coming the otherway, which didn't last long. Satisfied he has headed back to explore other branches. On his way back i ran into Barbu's warrior this turn

All in all everythings going well. My only concern is BCLG, i'm trying to get the copper hooked up asap to pump out some spears and axes for defence and possibly for an attack.

Well my game is basically screwed big time. For some reason there is a bug which means that we can't trade between the 2 civs. The problem is while you can go into one civ and open up the diplomacy screen and send an item, in my case a city, to trade when you log into the other civ the offer is not received and hence no trade can take place. Why am i so screwed, well the picture says it all

From eariler post i had said i wanted to give Asoka more cities because of the organised trait. And that there was only 1 copper source between the 2 civs. As it panned it it was better for Gandhi to build the settler and once settled give the city to Asoka.
Part 1 went ok but i can't trade the city (Davesburg). To compound the problem the reason i chose the spot was to benefit from the extra production of the copper mine, which i can't do because it in Asoka's borders. Davesburg was going to be a main military production for both Indias, but its now useless because it has a lot less production capacity and the copper is asoka's which given the circumstances would be better for Gandhi to have since Connor City is the next best option, but as luck would have i can't trade the friggin copper to him. Plus Gandhi's leaking extra gold as he is not organised and the city is far away. So basically i'm screwed unless the problem can be fixed and quickly.

I will try to get the game paused for a little while, so any ideas as the cause of the bug and how to fix it please step forward.
Unfortunately we were not able to fix the problem so this game has been cancelled, which is too bad because it was an interesting concept.[bosd]
