YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! We gots it! Niccccce precciouss fissssshhhh - erh, job!



The review committee of the German Science Foundation (DFG) in their incalculable resolution have.. (oh, sorry, I'll stop quoting 'Das Boot' now)

So, what happened? They recommended to the DFG that my project should be funded as applied, just minus the student helper.

That maens that from the end of my current job on there will be a 2 year funding as a postdoc research at the Museum for Natural History in Berlin :)

hehe, given my field of work it would have been a nerdy bearded student helper - gender irrelevant ;)

But I am quite rpoud, as the reviewer really must have liked myproposal and talk - I am hardly qualified for such a position and am only at half-time of hte current project :D I am glad i know who they are, so I can make sure of sending them reprints once my publications are out, to show them that their trust was well-placed!

I can also pormise to be more active @ CDZ again now that the biggest amount of work is done :D

@[shabba]: not really - I will be there three days every second week, staying at the inlaws' and commuting by plane, probably. Or not - depending on how Rita's job develops..... maybe, if she gets a great offer for B., we might move htere. But it would be smarter to wait until I get a permanent position before we leave Stuttgart. After all we live there rent-free and with baby-sitters 10 min on foot away (my parents).

Smart, considering you just got the other house. But what babysitters, did I miss something?

I'd definately go and visit you in Berlin, my GF and I have reasons to visit that city anyway :)
