View Full Version : CDZ Cup Consolation Prize Discussion
To all CDZ Cup members:
I have been contacted by CDZ Cup participant Sibul from team Sibultsikud with a generous and noble plan to hand out a consolation price to the team which receives the most injuries (in weeks) during the CDZ Cup matches.
Sibul is willing to sponsor this award, to be called the Smart Money award, and has agreed to provide 3 months of supporter to the "winning" team, i.e. having the most injury points at the end of the cup. No prize will be given to teams granting WOs in the cup, except when in the national cup.
To put it in Sibul's words:
I thinked that I will put to cup one award. It will be called as "SMART MONEY". And it will be given to team who will have most injury points. 1w=1point [medic] .
Some rules will be too:
1. If winner have gived some walkover [meany] (got 5-0 loss) then he will not get award and award will given to next team (if team was in national cup then he will get award).
2. If there will be equal number of points then winner will be who had bigger amount points per player in cup (like +7 weeks and other +5 weeks; then winner will be whos player got +7 weeks [python]) and if it’s same then will be watched who had bigger amount of points in one game.
And award will be 3 month supporter [hyper] .
I think it's a great gesture by Sibul to come forward with this, however, as I have also communicated with Sibul - and he confirmed he will sponsor the award personally - there are some things we might want to make clear here and now about the cup and awards and prizes in general. I think I speak for all here when noting the following:
- Nobody should ever be forced to make RL financial contributions to the CDZ Cup. The event started out as a friendly cup and should remain to be a casual experience.
Sibul's idea fits well in this casual experience I feel, since it will be totally random who wins the award, since injuries are gifted almost at will by the HT match engine, yet can have terrible effects on teams, with attaching a prize to it giving some remedy to the pain of coping with all the injuries.
There will be no prizes ever except receiving honour in the HoF for ending high in the Cup.
- The award is sponsored by Sibul on voluntary basis. This means that he decides when to quit with the event, and that the CDZ Cup organization is in no way involved in setting or handing out the price, it is a private initiative that is not supported nor disallowed within the rules of the cup.
I think these two notions are vital for the CDZ Cup to retain its "casual experience" and allow teams of all levels to join the cup and play at the same levels of enjoyment as higher class teams do.
To conclude, feel free to give your opinions on the idea. I personally think it's a very nice idea, and see no objections to implement it in the way Sibul has proposed.

You know, you can delete the 2nd one. I believe that's an acceptable use of the delete feature.
One thing : I won't cheer if I have injuries. Because if I finish 2nd on injuries, then I'm a double loser. [mischief]
I see no real downside to this suggestion. So I am all for it.

edit-awwww man my freakin goalie! i didnt even know they could get injured! that and one of my better striker trainees :( was winning when my goalie bit the bullet as well i think.
one thing if U delete your player before I can see him, then U don't get points for his injury. As I'm can't be sure how long was his injury! So "deleted" meen it. And WO meen U know what ;). Any other questions just ask.

I fired my injured player, because he wasn't worth enough to let me wait for 2 weeks until he would return.

Sorry but next time wait little more. So I can see it. I try to be as fast as I can to wrote down weeks but if game is in night for me. Then I will watch it next day.
Could a fired player be counted as a one week injury? Since if you check the match report you can see that the player did get injured and the minimum injury time would be one week.
It's good idea. So rule nr 3
3. If in match report I see player got injured but player is deleted. He will be counted as 1 point.

When do the players injuries get looked at? I had a player injured for 6 weeks on Sunday but now it's down to 5. Just wondered what day it counts from?

well you shouldn't get credit for Sunday's injuries. This is only for CDZ cup correct?
i seriously cant afford to get more folk injured this match, down to the skeleton squad, my reserve coach (why havnt i fired him yet???) is in goal with my coach on the bench.

OMG, BCLG had 15 weeks worth of injuries in 2 games. That's worse than bad luck. Nightmare. :(

just kidding!! Just rehired a heap of docs last weekend as 2 players got bruised seriously. They were followed by a serious injury last wednesday, feels like last season again. 4,3,2 weeks of injury in one week. Just glad I have 2 bots in the reg league coming up.

I don't think it is just you. With the table, it seems you have to actually refresh the page, instead of just viewing it again, or otherwise the updated table does not show.

I did not get the 0,5 injurry in the cup. It should be zero.

Damn.... My first injury during a friendly, but it's not for the CDZ because my opponent arranged another friendly... And the injury is 7 week (17yo)... :-(

Meli might shoot up in the rankings as I managed to get his 2nd player of the match already being helped off the pitch. Score 3-3 with 19 mins to go.

I think I allready injured aplayer of BCLG yesterday, but my memroy of yersterday night is a bit blurred, but i as right

You know if they only got hurt for 1 week at a time, you might get them back for league games. With the latest player out 5 weeks, you've had 3 or 4 guys hurt longer in the cup than I have had to any of my players ever (not saying much but still).

I only had a 1 week and a 2 week to add to my injury list.
All my injuries seem to be in the league matches not the CDZ cup :(
I currently have the grand total of 6 players out injured and 1 bruised but playing.
Not so good [:p]

Pretty nice to see that i'm the best in preventing an injury, and i'm one of the worst playing football teams.... :-)
24 weeks of injury in 7 games... ouch!
You really do deserve that award BCLG... perhaps a good time to hire a physio or two?
updated with some color. yellow is leader and red meen teams who gived WO. this week 2 teams gived WO. They are Acorazado Fuerte and PP SV. They haven't logged in from 10 and 12 nov.
[sad], too bad about the WOs again, and to see that some of the older, more established teams are causing them is also not very nice to see...
Nice table btw, BCLG's injury stats are pretty incredible, I'm just glad I'm not in the lead with such stats. [medic]

Little info more our cup was 9 weeks long and we totaly got 173 weeks of injury. Most injuries was is week 6 with 31,5 weeks, 2nd was 29 weeks in week 4 and 3rd was 20 weeks in 1st week.
Team who got biggest injury in one week was BCLG United with 8 weeks and 2nd place got he too with 7 weeks.3rd place got Swingstars with 5,5 weeks.
Prize will be given to winner later tonight if my ISP don't take my connection away as they will build new lines at at my house today. If they toke connection then 1st availe time.

Since I was the <s>tactical briliant</s> luckiest of the bunch, with the least injurries, I'd like to volunteer in sponsoring the next cups' Smart Money, though I would appreciate someone else handling the stats as that is too much work with babies arround. :)
