A word of explanation - events got a little out of hand last night. Links to this site (and CDG) were put up at CFC and elsewhere stating that this site was set up to bash CFC. This is not the case, to emphasise - this site was, and is, primarily a pbem forum.
We have not refrained from having free discussions in OT relating to various members conflicts with OT posters and mods at CFC. These threads were NOT a plot to bash CFC, they were largely people blowing off steam after being banned from CFC OT in what they regarded (rightly or wrongly) as unfair bans. These threads also contained posts urging people NOT to troll at CFC. PM's from CFC mods were openly posted in these threads which may well be considered impolite but is not as far as we know a breach of CFC rules. We regret any misinterpretation that has occured because of this.
As a result of all this IP addresses of at least 2 members here were publicly published last night, and at least 3 of the posters in these threads have been summarily banned from CFC without notification. We DO NOT want a site war, and we would urge members here to NOT go posting or trolling in retaliation, at CFC or elsewhere.
Also as an interim measure we have closed site registration, anyone wanting to register in the meantime should send an email to registration@danwilliamson.net and they will be sent their password and added to the members list.
The 2 threads have been removed from public view, given that some of the posts in these threads contain private PM's it may be best that they stay out of sight. CFC has been sent the two threads in their entirety for TF to judge for himself our actions. We hope this will soon blow over as this site is primarily a place for CFC members to enjoy pbem spoiler threads. The intention in founding it was to support the Civ3 pbem ladder and complement CFC, we are still all civfanatics after all!
