I just submitted my teams for the first few races of season one. 24 races there are, from next Saturday until September 20th!

I'm ready again for a season full of dubious results.

Cool thanks for the bump... The riding clowns are ready to pedal their way to glory... or relegation more than likely

So, is there anyone else that can't login to cyclingchampion? [???]

It's slow but it works after a few minutes.

No, it's different. I can't log in with firefox. However, I can login with IE.

After the first race I have a lead over KR :D - swingue however edged me out in points

My rider won though!

It's all about the points m'boy :D

Is it?

I think it's about winning races. Having your boy raise his arms in the shirt with the sponsorname. Having him stand popping the champagne after the race and collecting the big check.

I am very much in doubt whether the current system of awarding points is acceptable.

True and football is not all about training players to make money either but we play that game too.

Oh yes, I agree to that certainly. As said I am still in doubt what is best, both for the game and reality.

In cycling, I think every rider and team boss would very much prefer 2 wins and 3 tenth places then 5 second places even though the latter gets more points. This should either be compensated bij much higher financial rewards for places 1 to 3 or by more points in the protour.

well early escape with my best decenders obviously was not the way to go on that race [:p]

me neither. My squad slept as ENTIRE(!!!) teams grabbed a 4 minute lead. great. I will now sacrifice my squad to improve the game as planning a well executed attack has led to nothing at all.

Wow. The rider placement of this race is the worst so far. It's hard to come up with constructive criticism this time ;)
BTW, when Team Rambobank is controlling the race from 20 kilometres from the start and on, you know any escape is doomed [lol]

Another big issue is that a (certainly MY) team leader consequently ends far behind captains and domestiques [aargh]

Shabbaman

I think that when you're trying an escape, your leader won't escape, most likely.

Well, I have tried to organize a mass sprint the last couple of times. But my top sprinter always ended the sprint behind captains and domestiques. Maybe in this case it was different, because of the big group ending in front of the pack. Then again, all my captains were in that leader group, but not my leader.

Shabbaman

Okay, that makes sense. If you want a mass sprint, it'd be strange if your leader tries to escape. In the previous races your sprinter might have been tired from the climb.

Kingreno

I tried an escape after 2 Km this time. Obviously that failed.

I'm still not convinced, but then again we are all still guessing what happened. The soon to be introduced (I hope) logs will probably enlighten us more. A couple of worse climbers ended before my sprinter, who still has 4 wheels climb.
