Well im enjoying MP and all things like that so is anyone interested in starting another game?
Not sure about any of the parameters just yet you can all give me a hand if you like.
It could maybe be a team game, constant war. if we can find 6 people it could be 3 teams of 2.
Anyways what does everyone think?

I will play in this game, but I will make a couple of suggestions.
1) 2 teams of 2 to make it move quickly.
2) Roto style civ draft, with no team duplicating any traits.
3) Continents each team getting their own.
4) Monarch or Prince difficulty
My partner will be sz_matyas, and we will be known as The_Bash_Brothers_V.2.0
i dont quite understand option 2 could you explain it?
do you want AI, also if you already have a partner then i just need one so anyone availiable, i spose we could just do the 4, would we be having locked alliances so we can share tech research etc.
Ive only played on monach a couple of times so would Prince be ok?

I would suggest no AI.
Roto style draft means 1 team picks first, then the next team gets picks 2 and 3, then the team that picked first picks 4th.
Prince is an acceptable difficulty level.
ah right ok i see what you mean?
does it mean if someone picks an aggressive civ then no-one else can pick a civ with aggressive or does it just mean that 2 civs cant have the exact same traits?

What I mean on the no doubled traits is that say Matt and I picked first.
Matt picks first and takes the Inca. (Agg/Fin)
Now you would pick and take for example Ghandi (Spir/Ind)
Your partner picks and he can take anyone that is not already taken and doesn't have either a spiritual or a industrious trait. Sake of arguement picks Catherine. (Fin/creat)
I would pick and could pick anyone not taken who is not agg or fin, and I would say Spain (exp/spir).
That is kind of what I mean, so we don't have a financial war or we dont have an aggresive overrun, etc.
Oh right ok i see what you mean. thats a good idea ill just keep waiting for a partner or askign folk :D

Alright.
Matt and I have our civs and alternate civs ready for a draft.
I suggest you ask Whomp or Darkness to play as they are good c4 players well accustomed to PBEM.
I'm full on feast mode with all my games so no soup for me. I told Robboo about this game and he said he was aware of it so you may want to PM him again BCLG.
yer whomp's feasting, i spoke to robboo about it he said he's up for it, should be over soon enough, do i get extra points for a new member?
Romeo do you know how to make a map for locked alliances type thing, even after the matrix game im in im still unsure :)

Romeothemonk...I am new to multiplayer but I am currently involved with the CFC gaint pitboss game( I helped send Matrix home[beer1]) and I am playing the Aloha PBEM game vs BC, Robi D and Kuningas.

should we ask for someone to create a map or just have one of us do it?

ok, I would ask Barbu or Akots to do the map. They are pretty dang good about that sort of thing.
Do you want to pick first for civs? We will let you have the #1 and the #4 draft spots, or the #2 and #3. We (Matt and I) each have a primary and secondary civ selected and can draft quickly.
As soon as we have civs and passwords we contact the designated mapmaker and they take care of stuff for us.
Well why dont we ask someone to flip a coin to decide for us.
Heads- Me and Robboo go first
Tails- The Bash Brothers go first :)
So anyone lurking do that for us, do you know either of them romeo because i dont really tbh.
ok well is that cool with you romeo?
If so our first pick is Caesar of the Romans (obviously)

Well if the shoe fits....
I really follow football, and with the weakness of the NFC South, I think the Saints are poised for a good year. Something about 2 stud RB's, a proven QB and a veteran receiving corp will help them put up some points.
I don't follow their line, so I don't know how well they do on both sides at the line, but they aren't maligned quite like the Texan's line.
I am or more technically was a Vikings fan until their shennanigans last year. Something about the mass lying, blame shifting, me first crap totally turned me off to them. Since the Packers got A.J. Hawk, who I actually considered the best overall player in the draft, plus they have Favre, I will probably root for them. A middle backer never gets picked #1 regardless of how good he is, just because Offense and sacks are more important than solid fundamental play.
I wanted AJ to the Saints. After the BS with them possibly moving to San Antonio after katrina screwed us up down here, I didnt follow to closely last year. I dont live in N.O. but my parents live 20 miles away.
O line is decent, d-line is decent, LBers are nonexistant, secondary is OK. So as long as we can outscore people we might do good...but Bush already has had an MRI after one practice so I figure both him and Duece will end up hurt before the year is out. Typical Saints luck.

I check my emails 2-3 times per day at varying times, and no set deadline per day. I am in Mountain Standard Time, and Sz is in Central daylight time.
Well shall we at least say that people try and play one save a day, if we could all get on one time to play the early turns out that'd be good, so long as i dont have an exam the next day im free pretty much anytime.
I am central Daylight also. Since I dont have a real job and stay home all day I can play almost any time.

I am going on vacation starting this Fri for a week. I'll have access to Civ4 most of the time, but can't guarantee any specific time or length between turns, though I'll definetly try and keep it below a day. After that I don't have Civ at work, but can get my turns in on a regular basis.
thats cool SZ, if you'd rather not play for that time then you could let romeo do it for you?

Here is the first save. Romeo is up first as BCLG's turn had to be skiped.
Game is on monarch, as requested there is some passages for galleys. I'm not excaly sure how they work in civ 4 so I hope I did not screw up.
One player per team has a terrible start, I hope you will enjoy it.

I got the awful start. It is truely a stinker. I think Barbu had to work at making it bad.
He must have read my spoiler with my initial thoughts and tech plan, and then thought, "how do I hose this up the best?"
Wow. Although it definitely adds a new dimension to the game.

I took a line drive off my ankle last night in softball, so I can cover a power session today. (Sick Day!!!)
Erm well i have my may ball tonight-Graduation Ball :) So im out but perhaps robboo could play my turns for me :)

Only 1 of the 4 had that kind of start. I found it intersting, and since you won't see galeys in the near future, I figured you guys would have some fun with it, so I copied it on the other continent.

The save was sent to you this AM. I am now at work, and with mine and Matt's schedule, playing may get more challenging soon. We will both be at a wedding all day on Sat, then Matt has to drive back to Wisconsin on Sunday and Monday. So please continue to send the save files to mattjake AT gwtc dot net
Dont worry RtM those 4 or 5 turns yesterday made up for any days loss. BC and I are involved with 2 other PBEM together, a 18 person pitboss game and the Team ALoha on CFC MTDG...we wont get bored
yup, its cool RM- though with my exams coming up my taking the turns may slow down so my apologies in advance-i know its only a turn a day but i may just forget while im revising :)

we could just create a 2 person e-mail account for this game? if the save comes in and there isnt anything important to do one of us could just pick it up and play.

I am sure we will play as a team again...I want to go up against baldy and gramps(Tubby and Whomp) one day.

Just wanted to say that I'm back in Madison. You can send saves to me at either mcolvin AT wisc DOT edu or little_colvin AT yahoo DOT com. Both get checked, just I can't play during the day for the most part (can't put civ on school comps)
You can put it on school computers...you just cant get caught playing it.:) We played multiplayer Heritic and Orcs vs human in teh lab network till they "cleaned" the comuters of extra files. Never could pin it on the techs they thought it was the grad students.

I have a group computer that I am the only one who uses besides my advisor, so he might get suspicious. Otherwise I wouldn't mind. Still I can set my own hours to some extent so early lunches or taking a break to go home aren't completely out of the question (especially if he "catches" me working really late a couple days).
I know how it is..I was on teh decade plan for my degrees(BS and MS).
I was student, a lab tech,a teaching assitant and then graduated and ran the lab for a year before moving. Always make sure you are the a last one out on Fridays...and first one in on Mondays. What happened in between...doesnt really matter.

Just wondering where the game is as I have been waiting a week and a half since my last turn.
well you or romeo sent us a save that was about 3/4 turns behind, rob e-mailed back but we havnt had anything since. i can e-mail my last save if need be?
