I have a game against the Journeyman of civ4, the busiest man in PBEM, Darkness himself.

The game is ~ 20 turns in, so I figure now is a good time to post a pic and some commentary.
Here is my starting position. Lots of floodplains. Can you say cottage cheese?? I knew you could.

My continent mates are Mansa and Izzy. I will probably want to make Mansa die first, as I really don't like financial civs, unless I am playing them.

I have picked up 217 or so gold, but no techs from huts. Tech plan went for wheel, pottery and now working on AH for my fun immortals!!

I Might whack Izzy for fun too though as she has a religion and I could want that, and Mansa's skirmishers are freaking annoying.

Well here we go. I will give you some pics of my northlands and my southlands. My capitol will spam settlers and workers, pretty much anything else must be built elsewhere.
To the north. I am thinking of a position to grab the 2 gold hills.

Well time for an update on my game with Darkness.

If you don't know what this screenie signifies, I might require that you turn in your c4 disk, or I might ask you to play against me.

I was fortunate and my elephant city also picked up copper.

My gems city just needs ironworking so I can work the gems, and I will be getting to that shortly, after I get the CS slingshot completed.

Just an update. I did pull off the CS slingshot. I am now in the first anarchy, so that I can get my religion up. Then I will be in anarchy for the civics swaps.

Time for an update again.

I still have 3 cities, but I truely own a powerhouse in Persepolis.

I am working on continuing to grow my capitol bigger and stronger. I really like the nice 1 turn immortals.
I am building them until it is time to start constructing my Great Library.
7 turns till I get my shrine up, so I can keep the money pouring into research. I am building a settler to go up and claim me some gold.

Ok,
An update.

I am building the great library in my capitol.

My shrine will build next turn (Prophet in place)

I declared war on spain as they are ignorant (no iron working) and copperless. A sword manhandled an archer but a promoted immortal died to a warrior. Hmm, I will just burn that little city next turn.

An update.

I have been at war with Spain for a while now. It has cost me 2 immortals and a kung fu missionary. I have taken 1 town, pillaged them to nothing, and have maces advancing on them.
I have replaced all the warriors in my kingdom with spears and immortals and have 6 maces running free now. I should capture all of spain in about 15 turns now.
I just researched construction and am building my first cats. The best unit spain can have is an archer. (Sucks to be them)

I have hooked up gold, and have TGL in my capitol. I also built the Heroic Epic in Elephantville allowing for 2 cities to spit out 4 maces in 5 turns. (Capitol and Elephantville each produce 2 maces in 5 turns).

Darkness just learned philo, as he founded Taoism last turn ~250 AD. I think I have a slight tech lead and I hope to continue to exploit that.

A new development:

I killed off spain.

I am going to attack Mansa in 3-5 turns, but he has longbows. I will just keep pumping cats and Maces and just overrun his sorry butt. I have 2 towns that make 1 turn pults, so using a few suicides per town won't even slow me down.

Well, it has been a really long time since I updated this.

Both Darkness and I own our own continents and have for a couple of centuries.

I was the tech leader by a lot, but Darkness was able to trade with Mansa as I was wiping him out. [aargh][aargh][aargh][aargh]

That put him back in the game.

He leads me in GDP, but he was not expecting war. I built the Pentagon, which was uber cool.

I know this will break whomp's heart, but Chicago had to burn.

I own the seas, although darkness just built his first destroyer. I have several transports full of marines headed his way to hit and burn his coast.

Thanks for the great game Romeo! :)
So, how many turns did you still need for your last spaceship part?
