Monarch level
Small pangaea, 4AI
All other map characteristics on the middle option.
Culture flipping after conquest is ON. Everything else is off.
Darkness is Huayna Capac, I am Kublai, the AI are on random.

My start.

I moved (again) to get the 2nd shield in my capital. Leaving the river might have been a very stupid move. I forgot about the floodplains, so I only have 3 health in my capital right now :(

That's my first town.

That's a first idea what to research. Fishing for the crabs, Pottery for the floodplains, Archery for...um...well...for archers. That may change depending on how far Darkness is away. I also have to be carefull, because his Quecha are stronger than archers. I will need axemen some time soon.

Never been so grateful to get maps from a hut.

Note: we do not have contact yet! I will try to grab the hut near him from the sw, so he may be mislead from where I am coming. I switched research to mining - bronze working, but still risked to continue the worker. I guess the game will be over one way or another quite soon.

that's nasty. BW is probably best, not only for the axes (most important) but also so you can get rid of that forest near you. This going to be an OCC? [lol]

Once your capitol develops, it will be awesome.
I think you are in decent shape. Remember that you are on a hill, and your warriors will be better than archers. Especially warriors on a hill in a city.

Yes, that is very probable.

I just got another set of maps :(

Darknes just found my capital with his starting Quecha(?). I can't produce a warrior in time and will be dead in 2 tunrs :(

I got lucky... :)

Let's do a rematch? This one was way too short to be enjoyed properly...

Well, continuing to build that worker after finding Darkness so close was very risky. Could you have changed over to a warrior back when you popped that hut and made it?

Anyways, this kind of reinforces for me that starting with a working in MP can be extremely risky.

Yes, but lets do a normal sized one again, ok? We can keep pangea or suggest another landmass you like.

Yes, that is true. It was not a wise move doing that while starting with a scout.

It could have happened in Civ3 as well on a random map. ;)

Seems good to me...
I can start it tonight when I get home from work (or you can, if you prefer)...

To be completely honest, I didn't even consider that.
When I founded Cuzco, I saw that I had quite a bit of tundra to the south, so I decided to let the first unit explore in a south-to-north direction. The second was for MP, the third would have gone west, and the fourth would've gone east.
By the time I noticed your scout had popped the hut, I already saw the brown outline of your cultural border north of my exploring quetcha, so I just continued north...

Please go ahead and start it. I would like to be Kublai again.

Right.
Pangaea, standard size. 5 AI (or do you want 6? I think 5 is normal for standard size), I'll be huayna capac again, OK?

5 AI is OK, I want at least a bit of room this time :)
