Well I made it.
Last game of the season and I just manage to pull myself out of the auto-relegation zone and into the qualifier relegation spot.
Awesome set of games sees me in my highest position since the 2nd game of the season.
quote:
22818 spectators had come to Meli's Manglers Arena this cloudy day. Manglers started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Becerra - Carrol, Hoff, Bryan - Haugstad, Carroll, de Klaver, Sprengen, Quigley-Parks - Corrales Ortega, Gyllenér.
Jonseys had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation. They fielded: Rogersson - Schiebert, Randle, Crisp, Adams - Anger, Palombarini, Stewart - Grant, Secker, Lyssens.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Jonseys. Manglers's Andy Quigley-Parks got himself booked after a foul. There was no way Jonseys's Philipp Schiebert could continue to play after this, and no replacements were available! Johan Gyllenér acted with superior experience when, in the 6th minute, he predicted a pass, intercepted it and then finished off with a goal. 1 - 0 for his Manglers! Jonseys showed their counterattack skill in the 30th minute, with Philip Grant scoring uncontested for 1 - 1. Manglers's Rick Sprengen left the field after 31 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Stephen Mottram. After a fine move down the middle Miguel Ángel Corrales Ortega nearly gave the home side one up in the 38th minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. When Malcolm Stewart left the game because of a back injury in the 41st minute, Jonseys had to continue a man short due to a lack of replacements. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Manglers held the ball, with a clear 91 percent possession rate.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Manglers's Roddy Carroll got himself booked. In the game's 71st minute Jonseys's Kevin Crisp limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 72nd minute goal by Johan Gyllenér for Manglers, putting them ahead 2 - 1. Jeffrey Randle received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 81st minute and almost let an opponent score. Manglers held the ball, with a clear 90 percent possession rate.
Manglers's best player was Erdem de Klaver. Albert Hoff was a disappointment, however. Jonseys's best player was Philip Grant. However, Christophe Anger made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 1.
Of course the other team finishing with 9 players surely helped.
