Thought it would be nice to have a price check thread.

I;m gonna sell Alan Johnston. He's my 3rd winger and atm he's getting no play time at all as I play 3-4-3. Figured that after training forwards I might as well train wingers again so I can play 3-5-2 again, which effectively means mr Johnston is useless to me, he'll only play when my 1st two wingers are injured.

What do you guys think he's worth? Transfer compare only gives 1 comparable player.

Alan Johnston (21607978)
23 years, weak form, healthy
A sympathetic guy who is temperamental and upright.
Has wretched experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

I don't know if it will help or not but if you look thru the transfer list for

minimum 22 years
maximum 25 years
minimum TSI 2 000
maximum TSI 2 750
Winger at least formidable, no better than formidable
Passing at least inadequate, no better than inadequate
Sort order: Nearest deadline

You will find opening bids ranging from 100K to 1.25 Mil But 6-800K seem to be the norm.

Ya might tag some of these guys to see what they bring. There don't seem to be any being sold with in the next 36 hours.

Note: all sums are US$

PP: hmm. I'd say 600k Euro should be possible.

Meli: the thread is called the "PC thread". So no rules broken right??

True, but it's not often you can try and reprimand the Admins so I tried to grab it with both hands ;)

I see such players are bid around EUR 500-600K. Frankly, I wouldn't pay 500K for a winger without playmaking but if there are people who would, try selling to them ;).

Hattrick Buddy's Transfer Price Evaluation says 700-800 K Euros.

sold him for 600K, sold 2 other smalltimers in my squad for 60, after the usual discounts I keep 613K, nice.

What should I pay for a 21 y.o. brilliant defender with poor experience, solid stamina and weak passing? My estimate is about 1.7-1.8M.

ProPain

I'd say that would be possible. Not an expert in defender prices but I looked into a bit a month ago. Bought this player then for 2.85M then, so a 1M discount for your player seems reasonable. Wait till KR gives his expert advise though, he's been into defenders for years :)

I've seen your admirable purchase, my scouting has shown me that you were very lucky. But the deadline is in 2 minutes, so KR better hurry ;)

EDIT:

I've bought a similar player for 1.6M, with lower passing but higher PM and wing. The player I mentioned went for 1.8M.

I am too late.[blush]

Question: Why would you want passing in your defender at all??[dunno]

Passing in defence is basicly good for just one thing: CA.
All other uses, like the slight increase in level of AIM/AOW, are more or less worthless IMO. Since you play 3-4-3 CA will be not the tactic you want. For comparison, My Brillian Defender with Weak passing has roughly the same stats as my Brilliant defender with Excellent passing...

socralynnek

I wouldn't call weak passing "wanting passing"...
So, with higher PM, you are certainly better off...

I don't. But in my search for a brilliant defender I found this guy. Can't help it. My new defender has disastrous passing, if that makes you happy :D
