As usual, the first thing I like to do is set everything up to have the nicest experience from scratch. Some nasty people could then recommend me to wait for the latest patch, but let's skip this idea. ;) I'd like to know how to make the game understand that I want my saves, screenshots, INI file, etc... under the Civ4 directory, which I didn't install at the default place on my HD. Currently this "1 file + 9 folders" is in My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 on the C drive (not the best HD partition to save stuff), and I want that to be in D:\Sid Meier's Civilization 4. Also, I'd like to precisely know everything that the main menu does, especially the options screen (not described well in the manual), and also the different game settings, if anything special to say about them. I may update this post as things are revealed, please post what you know. :)

In Cuban Isolationists, Sirian explains how to do it with an ALTROOT or ROOTALL function or something like that. Sorry but cannot be bothered to go through the whole thread to find it for you, it was
around the post where he talks about his crashes, remember ?

I couldn't remember, since that was a time when I had stopped lurking the thread, but I found it using the CFC search system : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=3324103&highlight=altroot#post3324103
How do I use this ALTROOT function ?
