View Full Version : Clicking Competition!

I havent got time to sort anything out right now but Im starting this thread so we can gather discussion in one place.

from t'other thread;
quote:
I am happy to offer a straight 4000 credit prize - winner takes all? (I will not participate in the comp )
All those participating will need to screenshot their current wf credits as you 2 have already done (actually its the 'given' bit that is important). I would say 'starting now' except we need to give everyone a chance to be included. Suggest a starting date that gives everyone enough time (presumably it will be a week in length) and I'll start a new thread with all the details etc.

things you can discuss...

1) starting date and time - (sometime soon, tomorrow/early this week, and a set time that we take pics of our wf credits and then a set time to finish)

2) rules? seems obvious but state all the rules here (no transferred credits to count, my ruling is final etc.) and agreement on the prize being winner takes all, we could split the prize 1/2/3 etc. but I think its better if the winner just gets the full whack personally.

2) interest? I would like the prize to be 4000 credits but I guess we need some minimum participation. Feels like we have at least 3, if we can get a few more in it as well then maybe the prize can be greater?

For the first one I will offer 4000 credits for sure, for click comps run after this it might have to be proportional to num of clickers in it.

I'll get to this thread sometime tonight and hopefully we can set the start time/date then :D

Sounds awesome Doc.
I will click like a maniac anyway, but I suggest splitting your 4k clicks into 1-2-3 with a 2500, a 1000 and a 500.
I only say this as I rarely win anything, and I like runnerup prizes. :)
I agree to the rules, and Do not care too much about the dates. I would prefer if it doesn't include Oct 28-31st, but I could easily accept that.
For now, I will work on Mistfits challenge.

I'd say lets start Tues Morning

but again I will abide by what ever the group decides

I'm in if I can figure out how to use clickbeatch. I have admuncher but can't figure what the fuck I'm doing when all timer and numbers and letter pop up in clickwhore. Kev please help me. Rememember I'm a fucking idiot of major proportions....and have a nice day.[bosd]

DrAlimentado
17-10-2005, 18:57
Whomp - come on msm and I will give you a step by step guide through wf :)

I suggest we start the comp Wednesday morning - gives everyone a day to sign up. So my provisional timings are weds 19th 12noon GMT to weds 26th 12 noon GMT the following week. (12noon GMT seems okay to me, but if there is a reason to start at another time then please say.)

I have thought a little about rules;
1) whatever I say is the ruling is final, this trumps all other rules!
3) no transferred credits should count - this means you need to openly declare if you have received a credit transfer during the comp.
2) lets hope no-one would ever try and cheat a click comp, but if we need to verify clicks done you may be asked to provide proof to me (if it came to it then I might ask for someones wf password so I could log in and check the wf account... i bet this will never happen)
4) what i say is final!

Tubby Rower

I'm fine with it but I don't think that I'll win.... Especially now that I can't access KoC at work. I'l try though

Ya mean I can't use my graphix's skillz to win this :D

if we go for a split pot, 2500/1000/500 then you have a chance of winning something I reckon. Wildfire has already calmed down a little too, server load is generally less than 2 now instead of the 4.x 5.x values last week.

also clicking comps are not the be all and end all of click redistribution this age :D These first few weeks I am not going to be splashing credits around too much (apart from this and the odd welfare credit) but after the mad rush I will again be distributing clicks fairly frequently I hope, and I will make sure everyone gets some [love]

romeothemonk
17-10-2005, 20:12
Awesomeness.
I just like the idea of competition to help make everyone better. When we all click like rabid squirrels, the whole chain wins.
I figure that the redistribution program will resume once everything calms down a bit as well.
It now only takes me ~ 2hours of clicking to get 2200 clicks.

Hmm Banzai, seems we may be in the same boat here then. I at least have a backup plan. I get to raid Mistfits supplies of clicks.
I have hit 2500 for the day and am kinda burning out. We will see after lunch how I am doing.
My goal is to hit 4k clicks per day during the work week.

Tubby Rower
19-10-2005, 20:09
How can you get more than ~2-3k of clicks a day? Is that what the IP addy changing thing is about?

btw, my goal is to average ~1k clicks a day. I can't click too often with my daughter wanting to see cookie monster on the computer :)

I have 2 computers at work that have high speed connections with Clickwhore on them, allowing ~ 4.5k per day without IP masking.
At home, I have Dialup. [bosd]
Unfortunately one of the computers at work lacks the fire power to power click, only allowing me 15-20 cpm, while the other handles ~50 cpm.

[goodjob] correct, atm you can get 2-3k clicks per session but when you change ip you effectively get a new session. Yesterday I used 8 proxies [:O] - didnt get the full 2/3k per session but racked up >12k or so in total.

You have to click here and download the updated 2o, so that it links to the right place. It just let me put on 350 more clicks so it is working.

I have been investigating what the different clickers are like, the only worth much apart from wf is doomsday device (http://www.kocplanet.com/d/). I wish it wasnt fury's recruiter but I have put aside my pissed offness and traded it in for a boost in growth.

3000+ credit gets you in the top 20 and >1000 a day clickback. Wildfire is still faster and has more clicks (=>more clickback) but once you have decent credit on wf its got to be worth investing some clicks on dd.

romeothemonk
28-10-2005, 05:25
I have been putting up a few clicks on DD as well. It clicks at about half the rate of WF, but I don't click much on DD, and get the men back fairly quickly.
It is probably due to the fact that I use the classic keyboard clicking on WF, and no such option exists on DD.
Then I switch between the 2 and always double tap the 11 on WF.
Fury will get his comeuppance in time, No worries about that on my part.

DrAlimentado
30-10-2005, 13:44
must be time for another clicking competition eh? :D

the advent of the watchlist in wildfire makes it much easier to run this comp, all we need is a starting date/time and I'll just do a screen capture of everyone who is competing :)

how about monday evening?

romeothemonk
30-10-2005, 14:29
Actually Doc, Could you wait a week or so? That would be ideal on this end. I need a chance to get my competitive juices back.

sz_matyas
30-10-2005, 19:53
I might think about joining, but I've been collecting all my clicks without a proxy server and don't want necessarily want to break that. Still I've been getting more clicks back than I have been able to give anyway, so maybe break the streak anyway.

DrAlimentado
06-11-2005, 22:04
New clicking competition starts tomorrow! [jump]

Same rules as before, the start time shall be 12noon forum time. No need to post your starting credits as I shall do a screenshot of my watchlist for start and finish credits. Rewards will be a minimum of 3k/2k/1k but could be more [groucho]...

romeothemonk
06-11-2005, 23:34
Hey doc, Do clicks with DD and LaCN count? I probably will throw down at least 10k at DD this week, and I would like them to count.

DrAlimentado
07-11-2005, 00:07
hmm, yeah I suppose that is okay.

you will need to get a screenshot of your DD credits at start and finish (i will confirm them), if you can get it from the stats page (so it has all the viewable stats) that will make it easier, and it will be total credits that are counted.

The prizes will be paid in wf credit of course :)

DrAlimentado
