Got this mail form akots last Thursday. Inquiring atm when he expects to be back.

Most important is that I got the damn visa stamp and am free to travel around the world!

Ok, I'm off to meet the Rita hurricane. There is still power here but expected to go off rather soon. It should not be too bad but we might stay without power for maximum a week. Sorry to put all unplayed yet games on hold again.

You got me watching some Houston TV on Yahoo at 4am (Paris's time), just as Rita was knocking on the door on Saturday morning... And again at noon, but then I left home until now. :)

Ok, I'm turning this into away and back thread. I'm travelling to Russia for New Year starting right from the Christmas day and will return to Houston on January 5th. I have the visa now, so why not?

I'm back to Houston, it was a nice trip. Of course, I don't mean the intercontinental flights. These were horrible as usual. I have actually bought all tickets (Houston-Paris-Moscow and back) from AirFrance since I can get some free miles this way. But flights from Houston to Paris and from Paris to Houston were serviced by Continental. Not only they charge $5 for each alcoholic drink but I've lost 50% of free miles as well. Little surprise, flights between Paris and Moscow were also not by AirFrance but my Aeroflot. Drinks were there but 50% free miles were lost again. Alas, these things happen. Apparently AirFrance is out of business. All Frenchmen still celebrating or just busy with more important stuff. [lol]
