Krys will love this, I guess. A vet. warrior + a settler in 4 turns.

Alex would make peace now and give me some change, though no tech. I have still my warrior next to Athens. I did not take peace yet, cause I think it hinders him more than me and I love the war happyness. Too risky?

looks like you can stay at war while building settlers. well, it'd be safer to get peace and then deal with him later as you really need to be expanding right now, not fighting.

:D Indeed. As I was browsing your spoiler, I was wondering if you had thought to do it. I quickly came to the same conclusion as you : you need to run it from size 5 to size 7, because there is no forest. It must have been long to set it up, but you got 2 slaves, how cunning ! [thumbsup] Plus those warriors, that you are building at the veteran status (smart move), will be upgraded to gallic swordsmen someday. What does it to take to beat Alex ? Good luck. :)

Why'd you go and change your post with just "a" to actually have stuff? Now my "b" is all alone.

I posted the wrong spoiler here, so I quickly replaced it with "a", before grahamian could accidentially read it. Then I replaced "a" with the correct spoiler. Only half as mystical and sexy as you guessed, eh? :)

No, so much more mystical and sexy!

By the way, I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but you have played this one almost exactly as I would (ideally).

I am pleased with my game so far at least. It is uncommon for me to settle that close and to build a worker so soon. It seems to pay off.

no worries grs, I didn't see anything :) this one looks like its going well for you. You may want to consider going for a chariot/settler/settler pump instead of the warrior/settler. Just have to start the cycle with a chariot @ 4.5, then a settler @ 5.5, and then again at 5 (which brings you back to 4.5 when complete). Chariot -> horseman upgrades are cheaper than warrior -> sword[charge]

Contra: I upgrade warriors to GS instead of normal swords.
Pro: I did not find my iron yet...

good points. the economics of it are:

1 chariot upgrade = 30g
1 GS upgrade = 90g
