Looking for a Deity-level PBEM

Hello,
My name is David and I am a member of the BAT (French) team in the ISDG.
I would love to play a 1v1 PBEM (with AIs) versus a member of the CDZ ISDG team :)

I had read the way you guys play PBEM and I like it with equal starts and rulesets.

Krys would have been an ideal contestant (since he beat me by just 5 turns in our GOTM [aargh] )but he just posted that he is not playing PBEMs anymore [crazyeye]

Anyone up for challenge ?

Bonjour David!
I would be interested, but I'm not yet at my ease in SP Diety, so your level kind of scares me.
But if you don't mind a demi-god or emperor game, (or one we request a bad AI start), I'd be intersested.
What kind of game you have in mind?
With AI/No AI ?
Continents with galey acess/ no galey acess/pangea ?

Anything is fine with me althought my last game was continents with AI and I would not mind a change.

Welcome to CDZ, DavidC. :) I hope you'll enhance your Civ experience even more here. And yeah I'm sorry, but lately Civ3 is getting on my nerves, and now all I want is to end my PBEMs and wait for Civ4 (except the ISDG and Superfast, because it's fun to play with someone), because Civ3 is full of broken stuff, etc, etc, etc... There's no need to make a summary of it, my numerous posts here on the question already say much, plus Civ4 is almost beta now, so we'll see, but so far so good, according to the previews.

And we need more Frenchies here. :)

Thanks a lot for your answer and interest. The level is not important, Demi-God is quite nice, I prefer it to Emperor
if OK with you.
I would prefer WITH AI and Pangea would be great too so its at least some difference with your last game.
I like to play with Agri civs (not like the damned ISDG!!) so we can both choose an Agri one ?

SGL? I say OFF (unless you want to play sumerians)
SoZ? Don't rely mind, I would say small wonder, produces horseman.
Map size? Standard
Number of AI civs? I'd say 6 (4 is also good)

What do you think?

For the rest of the rules, we should set it on messenger before the game starts.

Definitely the second best civ on this type map :)

I think, being on a Pangea, you only leave me the option of choosing the... Iroquois [mwaha]

SoZ: off as well, I prefer No Mods type sorry.
Size : Standard with long style of Pangea, us at opposite ends ?
Number of AIs : 4

Rest of Rules : I am more "Sirian" type rules, honourable sort, then GOTM exploitative sort, you understand me ?

About the rules, you'll have to send me a link because honorable is so different for different people.

We could start with krys's ruleset and chage what we like.

Personaly I think it's fair.

Edit: We must also decide on barbs, personaly, I would leave that to the mapmaker's ability.
Edit2: thinking about it, I request the presence of barbs so my UU will have some kind of use.

Yes Krys' ruleset is fine with me.
Here are my corrections to it :
1- Interface exploits.
All except "the Big Picture".
2- Any game :
All except "Resource disconnection".
3. Every game with AIs :
All except "Seed Corn"
4. PBEM :
All except "Gentleman behaviour" (weird rule that one)
"locked war" and of course "no barbs".

Is that OK with you ?


For the barbs, no problem but not "raging" please :)

This means you will be able to have units and buildings the turn you get a tech?
I've never seen a game that allowed this exploit here.

For the other modifications, I agree.

For the big picture I use it more the turn I get Philo (for example) I can go to the Diplomacy part
and trade Philo to try to get a good free tech...is it not acceptable ?
I do not use it to buy things or whatever :(

That's fine with me. Just don't go in the city screen in the big picture. I think it's what Krys ment with scroll up.
