For CFC thread please see this:

Our CDZ signup thread somehow ended here:
http://www.civ3duelzone.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2949

If we are playing, then need to create a forum in this SGOTM forum.

The game would make use of helicopters and paratroopers. It is archipelago map played without ships or any other means of naval trasportation as America and Conquest is the target victory conditions. Seems very peculiar to me. Never ever even researched Advanced Flight. Chance to learn.

There would be severe competition with Wacken again fielding his formidable team. Would CDZ be able to compete again in this one?

Please, people, sign up. Time to beat up the unbeatable Wacken. They are strong though, it's going to be tough but at least we should try. We are not going to make it if we don't field a strong six-player team. So far only 4 sign ups. Need at least 2 more to keep it going.

I doubt even the people in team wacken has much experience at this variant..
so you should have a decent shot at beating them :)

Not to brag, but I used to play weird American Solo variants a lot. I have gotten kills with F-15's, and used them to trigger my G.A.
The players that have signed up are very committed, plus you have a plethora of talent, maybe even more talent then Team Wacken.

I also signed up...
AlanH asked, if we want two of the players who didn't say which team they want, or try to find two more of CDZ regulars.
What do you think?
I think, 4 are not enough players, so he should give us 2 more if we don't find anyone soon.

I would not prefer 2 get 2 randoms. Can we have KR and Anarres just say they will play, or maybe CoL?

I asked KR and Meli via HT-Mail. No answer yet. Can someone else ask the others?

EDIT: KR declined and I guess Meli will also decline...

[lol] We'll try. Now, can we get us forum erected for this SGOTM8?

@Meli or Propain or Anarres: Please, I can't do it myself or I don't know how.

@All: But we can start discussion in the CFC thread. Whichever people will prefer, I'm fine either way. :)

PP: The CFC-thread seems to work just fine. I vote for: "not needed".
What do the other teammembers think ?

CFC thread will do just fine, IMHO
In fact, I think it's easier. Now you only have to check one thread...

[cry] you're leaving us.....

Have to say that I only visit CFC twice a year atm. So from my lurker POV a local thread would be amazing. And think of all the spamming and flaming you can do here!

I only visit the sports forum and the SGOTM8 thread, about once a day, so that's enough to stay up to speed on the game. (@Rik: you,re up next BTW ;))...

And I can spam and flame here all I want, why would I want to limit myself to one thread only... :D

If you set up the forum, then I'll see what I can do for the lurkers tonight/tomorrow. :)

Are we? CDZ signing up for SGOTM 9?
I would like to.

certainly looks interesting, I have time to give a couple of turns. But I have no ideas what should be our general strategy.

Normally I'd be all for a game where the goal is to lose... But I cannot give it my full attention right now.

I would however like to see CDZ put a winning (or losing in this case) team together.

I signed up for it, and I saw that socralynnek did as well.
I am all about this type of game.
SGOTM with civ4 and the greatly reduced MM would be key though, as it plays to my strengths as a tactician and mid level planner.

You however are the quickest person I have ever seen playing a turnset on CIVIII. Don't take that wrong. Your're good! But you seem to be able to play 10 turns quicker than I can get my bearings and start my first turn.
