It has been a loooong while that I did the popquiz and Kemal has been bugging me ever since to revive it. (j/k Kemal ;))

I decided to do another one but a little differently from the first one, mostly to make it a bit harder and more interesting. For starters I'll start with a few lyrics (Rik M style) for you to guess, maybe later I'll add some mp3's like before. I do plan to upload mp3's from songs that have been guessed.

First Round:

Lyrics: Religion and sex are power plays

Following info gets you one point each
- song titel
- artist
- record this song was on 1st
- biggest hit from artist

And no googling people!!! [coool]

Hehe, who, me??? ;)

This one looks really tough though... frankly put I've got no idea so I'm gonna guess you will start off easy for us, so:

Band: The Butcher
Record: Manual of mass destruction
Biggest hit: Gilles de la Tourette

[sneaking in 2nd guess]
But of course, it could be from Pro-Pain as well, from the foul taste of freedom album...? [ponder]

Sorry to disappoint you but those guesses are totally wrong.

Without using google, (I had to use a much more archaic search engine) I found an answer
This may be one of those letter of the law answers. :)
Group: QueensRyche (There appears to be many covers of this song)
Song: Spreading the Disease
Album Operation Mindcrime from 1988.
And if you think that it was too easy, that took me ~20 minutes to find.

Absolutely no clue, but since you've mentioned me I won't chicken out.

Song title: Game
Artist: The Stone Roses
Record: The Stone Roses
Biggest hit: Fools Gold

Hmm, but what was the answer to this one in the end...?

I even got some more hints via MSN but still didn't manage to find out... so the popquiz is already dead again it seems. :(

Paalikles thinks PP is busy with this stuff (http://www.civ3duelzone.com/forum/uploaded/Kingreno/200512620559_borstel.jpg) a lot these days [hmm]

Totally slipped my mind, although I have some new songs lining up for this already.

Romeo earns full points for his answers, they're all correct. One point to be earned for biggest hit although I realise that might be different in Europe/US

Romeo : 3 points

WOOT. I will probably do better with classic country songs though
Can I do my own?
Lyrics: The Kid must have been no one, or else the mayor didn't love his son.
Title: 1 point
Group: 1 point
Album: 1 point
Hits: 1 point

classic country is not really my field of expertise but my dad used to play some country records when I was little. So on to the attic and digging up those Waylon Jennings and Kenny Rogers albums, maybe I get lucky.

My challenge is not really classic country, it is Americana.
The group shows up pretty regularly on www.bootliquor.com and the song hits the rotation once every 2-3 days.
