To start of the season, Snaken got a flying start with a convincing 4-0 win over co-promotor FC Warriors. Best thing of the match was that the ratings were decent, who knows I might even get to cup round 3 this year, with some luck.

quote:
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and FC De Snaken Arena saw a crowd turnout of 17481. Fans from both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Utrecht derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Snaken had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. Lineup: Mi#322;ek - Poorter, Lucado, Öztürk - Espinola, Balyon, Rogersson, Halling - Kronskär, Hoseth, Catanã.

Warriors tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Hytha - Larsen, Brebion, Sterenborg - Wyroba, van Egmond, Stohl, Ifrim, Lannertorp - Räihä, Fajardo.

Warriors clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, using their talent for it. Wietse Balyon gave his Snaken the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post. The referee showed Warriors's Óscar Fajardo the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After an industrious effort down the middle Wietse Balyon could have closed the game off in the 10:th minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. The referee showed Snaken's Wietse Balyon the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In the 24:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Boe Halling dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Snaken. The structure of the game started to change as Snaken decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Per Kronskär almost managed to score another goal for Snaken, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Snaken's Ristea Catanã got himself booked. 2 - 0 was the half-time score. Snaken, bringing the final ball possession rate to 69 percent, dominated the battle.

Snaken nearly produced a goal as Mohamed Hoseth set up Ristea Catanã for a strike from a seemingly impossible angle. The receiver wasn´t as clear-headed though, and put the shot wide. Per Kronskär sailed high, high above the opponents as he headed the 3-0 in after a corner kick after 69 minutes of play. After an industrious effort down the middle Ristea Catanã could have closed the game off in the 73rd minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. As Guus Sterenborg had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Warriors player a red card without batting an eye. In the 81st minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Per Kronskär dashed through, knocking home 4 - 0 for Snaken. The referee showed Warriors's Miros#322;aw Wyroba the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Snaken, bringing the final ball possession rate to 73 percent, dominated the battle.

The most dominating Snaken player was without a doubt Stanis#322;aw Mi#322;ek. Florian Lucado on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Warriors player was without a doubt Micha Hytha. Miros#322;aw Wyroba on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 0.

Iirc, most cdz-ers were doing quite well last season, so how are you all fairing in the new divison, possibly in a higher league as well?

Brilliant start with an 8-1 win.

Marlins started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Refkivanza - Cassella, Noonan, Packer - Matussin, Tuilagi, Johnson, Walter, Insalaco - Ibrahim, McGowan.

It was an obvious ambition of Marlins to attack on the flanks. In the 12th minute the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending and Darren McGowan put the ball away for 0 - 1. In the 18th minute Dunthorpe's Jye Landers head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. Rod Gandy was just a finger´s breadth away from an equaliser for Dunthorpe, but Eko Refkivanza managed to ward the closing shot off for a corner. Seemingly due to lack of experience, Taylor Tuilagi needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. After 29 minutes of play Tetahiti Dean equalised for Dunthorpe after an elegant attack from the right. The terraces were silenced in the 32nd minute as Marlins´s Mohammad Ibrahim put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack from the right. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 58:th minute Marlins goal, making it 1 - 4. Darren McGowan was noted down as the scorer. Darren McGowan increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 1 - 5. By then Darren McGowan was a three time scorer - a hat trick! By now Marlins were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. After 80 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Darren McGowan who increased Marlins´s lead to 1 - 6. The visitors Jeff Packer took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and central backs in the 81st minute. 1 - 7 for Marlins. The game had been on for 83 minutes when Mohammad Ibrahim broke through to the right, upping the score to the home crowd´s dismay. Marlins´s were up 1 - 8. By then Mohammad Ibrahim was a three time scorer - a hat trick! The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Marlins, with an impressive 81 percent possession of the ball.

The most dominating Dunthorpe player was without a doubt Edemorio Farfán. Daniel Bailey on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Marlins player was Taylor Tuilagi. However, Erez Walter made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 8.

In the 24:th minute the excellent ball from the wing byMarcos Hammond reached Jackie Spencer's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 0 - 1. Chemists#180;s Anselmo Mininni made it through the home teams defence in the 26:th minute, and had only to place the ball in an unguarded goal when the home side#180;s defender sprang up from the left, clearing the ball on the line. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 1. Chemists held the ball, with a clear 58 percent possession rate.

Only remis against a really bad team. I hate my goalkeeper. But I finally drafted a better one from the youth squad.

quote:The crowd of 1493 turning up at Grünclub Arena today were greeted by some nasty showers of rain. Fans from both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Nordrhein-Westfalen derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Grünclub had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. Grünclub held the ball, with a clear 64 percent possession rate.

The referee showed Blauen's Finn Joshua Klügel the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, Leif Valenta spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit Slaven Braèanov just fine. Leif Valenta put his head to a well placed ball lifted in from the left and scored the 2 - 2 goal in the 90:th minute. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Grünclub, with an impressive 69 percent possession of the ball.

Grünclub's best player was Luca Muuss. Tellis Xidas on the other hand, had a terrible day. Blauen's best player was Rüdiger Lothert. Jörg Härteis was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 2.

Pretty shocked by the result. Though I might get a draw but somehow we won which makes survival a lot more realistic although one of the teams I am expecting to go down, won.
