someone that powerful could knock us all out the game very easy. You were actually protected by the fact that their level is SO much higher than yours the game system seems to protect you slightly. (it may be a rounding to 0 'feature' that they left in to protect from bullies)

I was away for the weekend and ended up with 80 or so attacks available.

I wen on a shopping spree and bought all kinds of weapons and spy/sentry stuff. Now If I can survive any counter attacks I'll be fine.
BTW go to pages 1400 - 1450 There seem to be some rich folks there with < 1 mil defense action

You were away for the weekend? Didn't you get attacked yourself? I've been to the Hague for 20 hours and I got robbed for 1.6M. And then I lost 15 attack turns when one of my milking targets apparently upgraded his DA in the mean time. Argh. My army needs to be sized down, still in the business of that.
I'm still pretty small I was attacked for 100K but nothing serious.
Just spend 15 mins attacking. 62 attacks, 4,4M very nice. Being small pays off.
My plan is to max out at 150 soldiers and put the rest into spies and sentries.
100 Attack and 50 Defence.
My SA Just jumped to 1 Mil today!

It's my belief that attacking early in the morning (U.S. time) gives you the best targets to go after. I've been attacking at around 6:30 AM (EST) and have found lots of ripe targets to go after. I think that people have not had the chance to get up and spend their treasuries before I get to them when I get to work in the morning.

I totally agree, I tend to get whacked in the morning and I see quite some interesting targets as well. Proly students that are stil sleeping :)

no time can not be set to local time zone on snitz. We're looking into a move to VB however so do not despair!

despite my earlier statements that it is better to train men than to buy tools there is a caveat; You will earn more money from the man if he is not trained as a spy/sentry and that will repay the saving from not buying the tool in a couple of days... so, er, for long term growth you should probably buy tools as well as train men.

For my next spy upgrade I will need 1.536 Mil so I will hold off on attacking for a day or so to build up some attack turns to insure that I can hit and upgrade very quickly. I like the idea of having multiple windows open to do it all at once. I'll keep ya posted!

Next question is whether or not I'm better off buying 1 cheap spy tool for every spy or spend it on expensive ones and slowly build up?

Not only did he waste his turns he killed of 13 of his soldiers.
This guy just won't give up. He must have raised his SA a just to attack me he got a grand total of 11k (boy that's gonna hurt) But he lost another 6 soldiers doing it

now with a hook and a spy you can theoretically sab anyone for 1 BPM/IS (albeit with a low % chance to hit in one strike if their sentry>your spy)

Holiday weekend in the US. I've been away. I only got attacked for 300K. I just spent 1.8 mil to upgrade my unit production to 80 per day :D Thanks for the warning though. I do however have 145 attack turns

My goal is to see how high I can get my SA with only 75 Soldiers
I currently have 47 BPM's and 28 Dragons. @ 750K per it will take a bit of time to get up to 75 of them
I should break into the top 20K very soon
I've only been targeting people with 1.7 Mil treasury or better. This way I can get 3BPM's per 2 attacks minimum.
With an SA like that you should be able to hit bigger targets.

If you increase your spy I think you will get more gold per hit, increasing your SA only helps if you are seeing a lot of targets you cannot break.
I guess the question is how often do you see a bigger heap of gold behind a big DA (but is within reach, because none of us will ever have 100's millions of SA)?
IMO an SA of >12mil should get maybe 2-3 mil gold a steal (targetting >3mil gold only). To get much more than that you need a LOT more SA, I have 67mil SA (and 72mil spy) and I can only target 6-7 mil gold regularly. The high spy is the key though, if I had only 40mil SA I could still hit about half my targets that I see.
Still you are doing very well considering your low TBG! real power lies in clicking of course... ;)

What do I need right now?
How about 32,844 knives... I wanna upgrade my Soldier production to 320 a day like the rest of you.
But first I wanna get my spy rating up to 10 mil...
Currently it is at a bit over 6 mil...
With 320 soldiers per day it is easier to get your spy rating to 10M!
I think I should be able to get it to 10 Mil within a week no problem. Then I will go for the 320. It may not be right but it's the way I'm gonna go at it.

My advice is to keep piling on the spy, I found some 5-9 mil targets yesterday with less than 10mil DA [:O]. Look out for accounts with lots of gold and a small TFF (bigger than you still of course) and then recon them - many are SA orientated, or all sentry, altough if they are dwarves with a very high fort upgrade prepare to be amazed at how high a DA can be with a small TFF...
btw - If you are able to recon someone it is much cheaper than hitting them with a probe first.
A recon is essentially free - whereas a probe costs you an attack turn. And you get roughly the same amount from a x15 attack than from a x1 then a x15, because each steal is relative to the size of the pot. And you have to pay the weapon damage twice of course, so recon instead of probe if you can.
I normally do recon first. But if it fails 2 times in a row and I think I have a good probability of succeeding I try a probe attack before going for the 15.
Edging closer to the 10Mil mark. Hit for 6.89Mil woth 45 attacks this am.

He was probably trying to use the HoG on the first screen as a hiding mechanism. By having that, He wouldn't need to invest in invisibility or something.
Kinda odd that you looted more gold than he showed, but maybe he bought or sold stuff, or you just hit him more than once.
No I went back after my attacking to get the screen shot. The userstat pic was taken about 1 1/2 hours after I attacked him when I decided to post this here.
Some guys with a Hand of God do not fake their defense!
I noticed a guy with a HoG, 5000 troops and 40M gold.
That were 5000 dwarfs with invis shields.. :(
This morning I acted like a newbie again.
It was a bit late but I wanted to use my attack turns quickly before going to the office.
I noticed a guy with 19M gold and a small army, just a bit bigger than mine.
I inspected.. 879 Invis shields behind a Stronghold.
A quick calculation (thanks DrAli for the tool!) told me that it was in my reach, so I charged.
