Mathew Watson made a superb strike at the goal in the 8:th minute with a long shot coming in from straight in front of the goal, but one of the visitors defenders got a foot in and warded it off to a corner. In the 21th minute athletico's Ron Carroll head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. By then Mohammad Ibrahim was a three time scorer - a hat trick! The game had been on for 59 minutes when Taylor Tuilagi broke through to the right, upping the score to the home crowd´s dismay. Marlins´s were up 1 - 6. Marlins will have to do without Bertran Sparke for a time due to a bad foot injury. He was substituted by Rodrigo Ward. And to think I could've scored more goals had I not PICsed it. :)

Pity about the injury to Bertran, 3 weeks, so he'll be missing the rest of the season.

Thats not necessarily true. PICing just lowers the midfield, it doesn't lower the score.

Well, I'd like to think I would've scored goals had I gone with normal. [:p]

quote:28000 spectators had come to Wartham United Arena this cloudy day. Wartham had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: Gray - Mason, Matthews, Budd - Pelgrims, Moulin, Laporte, Gabriel - Rowan, Ryan, Smets.

Power_House started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Zickus - Arnal, Consolas, Kobæk Larsen - Chudasama, Davies, Rochester, Galvin, Valenzuela - Ibbotson, Fear.

Wartham mostly ignored the flanks in favour of attacks in the middle. Wartham took the lead in the 11th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Matthew Ryan elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Wartham put themselves up 2 - 0 when Richard Budd broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. Alec Matthews almost managed to score another goal for Wartham, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. In the 36th minute, Power_House's Franz Kobæk Larsen received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Wartham were forced to a substitution as Robert Pelgrims couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Quintin Mika to come in from the sidelines. In the 39:th minute Jules Moulin put Wartham ahead 3 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. In the 41st minute Wartham put themselves up 4 - 0. The visitors defenders lost the ball to Guy Smets coming up from the left, who proceeded to cooly round the goaltender and knock the ball home. The teams went for a half-time break at 4 - 0. Wartham held the ball, with a clear 64 percent possession rate.

Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Jules Moulin squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 53rd minute, asserting the lead to 5 - 0. The structure of the game started to change as Wartham decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Wartham put themselves up 6 - 0 when Max Mason broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. As Guy Smets had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Wartham player a red card without batting an eye. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, John Davies spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. Nicolae Laporte should probably have put his team up another goal in the 76:th minute, but some great goaltending by Berke Zickus kept the visitors in the game. A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Wartham´s Matthew Ryan putting the lead up to 7 - 0. In the 84th minute, Wartham's Tony Rowan received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The Power_House player was Tim Ibbotson who had to be helped off the pitch, unable to finish the game, but Nicholas Massegu came in to finish the match. A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Wartham´s Paul Gabriel putting the lead up to 8 - 0. Wartham held the ball, with a clear 71 percent possession rate.

Most important Wartham player was Nicolae Laporte. However, Alec Matthews made a disastrous appearance. Most important Power_House player was Sergio Arnal. John Davies was a disappointment, however. The match ends 8 - 0.

When things go right :)

Sutton won 2-1 in the other game so the title is now pretty much guarenteed to go to the last game.

19545 spectators arrived at Meli's Manglers Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. People from all of Hampshire had joined up for the derby. Manglers had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Becerra - Carrol, Radley, Castellanos - Magnusson, Carroll, de Klaver, Sprengen, Quigley-Parks - van de Duin, Eriksson.

Camando tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Davoli - Mack, Vandeberg, Ayres - Mizrachi, Sommers, Dennison, Thomas, Mohr - MacKellachie, Rusiniak.

Manglers saw most attack opportunites on the wings and were directing their passes that way. Camando saw most attack opportunites on the wings and were directing their passes that way. Manglers tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but kept getting stuck on the visitors defenders. Tomas H. Eriksson gave his Manglers the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post. Some brilliant football from the visitors right wing resulted in a 41st minute levelling of scores as Camandos Lee Thomas equalised to 1 - 1. 1 - 1 was the half-time score. Manglers held the ball, with a clear 55 percent possession rate.

Camando took the lead after 49 minutes with 1 - 2. Jermaine Dennison placed the ball out of reach for the home sides keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. Manglers's Xavio van de Duin scored 2 - 2 by shooting accurately and hard from a long distance, leaving the opponent goalie no other option than to pick up the ball from the net. Camando had a good opportunity to score the lead goal but the home team goaltender Félix Becerra saved Lee Thomas´s shot headed for the top corner. Manglerss Xavio van de Duin gave, after 69 minutes, the home team a 3 - 2 lead after an attack coming in from the right. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Manglers lead up with 4 - 2. Roddy Carroll finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Manglers, with an impressive 60 percent possession of the ball.

The most dominating Manglers player was without a doubt Xavio van de Duin. However, Hogan Radley made a disastrous appearance. Camando's best player was Jermaine Dennison. Lee Thomas on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 2.

Almost all the way down to the corner flag Krisztián Bö#337;r somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Carlos Sánchez who struck for 0 - 1. The structure of the game started to change as Snaken decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Snaken's Olivier de Silguy got himself booked after a foul. Baldemar Hintermayr was noted down as the scorer. Yannick Burink was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn´t move the ball around with his usual grace. Olivier de Silguy could have put his team up another one in the 34:th minute, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. After the ball got lifted in from the left Berke Can Öztürk was on his own in the home side´s penalty area 36 minutes into the game, and should have scored, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Snaken held the ball, with a clear 76 percent possession rate.

Quite disappointing to see my team score so little against weaker opposition, but at least there was no winger SE against Snaken this time. ;)
