At The Yellow Boot, 30727 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Yellow had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Brown - Falbrant, Slipčević, Fernández - Örnbom, Villar, Biler, Righetti, Burri - Train, Gruber.

rivendell had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Niedzielan - Duncan, Harman, Camionero - Costantino, Eggen, Grabner, Szalay, Toscani - Pedersen, Arnoldussen.

rivendell mostly ignored the flanks in favour of attacks in the middle. Yellow took the lead by 1 - 0 after a penalty in the 17:th minute. Josef Gruber scored from the penalty spot. Yellow put themselves up 2 - 0 when Ryan Train broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. In the 22nd minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Gonzalo Fernández dashed through, knocking home 3 - 0 for Yellow. Foppe Arnoldussen had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team´s goaltender David Brown just wouldn´t surrender. 3 - 0 was the half-time score. Yellow held the ball, with a clear 59 percent possession rate.

Silvio Biler increased Yellows lead to 4 - 0 by putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. After this Yellow lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. The visitors replied in the game's 60th minute, scoring the 4 - 1 goal, as Foppe Arnoldussen dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home teams keeper. A bit later rivendell's Rod Duncan easily reduced to 4 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home sides central defense line. Yellow put themselves up 5 - 2 when Alejandro Villar broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. Yellow held the ball, with a clear 60 percent possession rate.

The most dominating Yellow player was without a doubt Michel Righetti. Josef Gruber on the other hand, had a terrible day. rivendell's best player was Gustaw Niedzielan. Rien Toscani was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 2. An incredibly good result for the Boots propels us unexpectedly into 4th place! Granted, this was an MOTS and I threw training down to 40%for a week to give me a TS boost, but I'm still surprised I won by 3 against a team that had previously gone 7-2. My chances of staying in V just took a huge boost, as I still have 1 guaranteed win left in the season. Also, one of my midfielders got 5 stars for the first time, and my new forward (solid scoring, solid passing, world class set pieces) made his debut and scored the first goal.

I'm excited about the rest of the season! :D

At FC De Snaken Arena, 19458 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Snaken tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Durzyński - Fleury, Öztürk, Flores D'Arcais - Malmholt, Lucado, Hintermayr, Kajak, Böőr - Sánchez, de Silguy.

peppelaars had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Dyce - Suciu, Boogers, van Liere - Boomkens, Lenters, Alma Tadema, Affelay, Raptula - Tijhof, Schönborn.

Peter-Gerard Boomkens was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the enemy box - Simon Schönborn managed to kick one of them into 0 - 1 in the 14:th minute. Snaken´s Krisztián Böőr put his head to a high ball coming in from the right in the 26:th minute, but the ball went wide. Carlos Sánchez made a superb strike at the goal in the 32nd minute with a long shot coming in from straight in front of the goal, but one of the visitors defenders got a foot in and warded it off to a corner. With a shot floated in from just outside the penalty area in the 38:th minute, Olivier de Silguy of Snaken evened the score to 1 - 1. Snaken could have put themselves ahead in the 41st minute as Carlos Sánchez missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. After a fine move down the middle Florian Lucado nearly gave the home side one up in the 42nd minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 1. Snaken held the ball, with a clear 70 percent possession rate.

In the 60:th minute cheers broke out as Carlos Sánchez found his way through the guests central defense line, clipping the 2 - 1 goal in for Snaken. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Snaken lead up with 3 - 1. Krisztián Böőr finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. Snaken put their lead ahead another goal as Carlos Sánchez struck home the 4 - 1 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. After 73 minutes peppelaars´s Peter-Gerard Boomkens contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. After an industrious effort down the middle Laurenty Kajak could have closed the game off in the 81st minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. The cross pass from Krisztián Böőr opened up the defence and was received by Olivier de Silguy who finished off to 5 - 1. The structure of the game started to change as Snaken decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Snaken held the ball, with a clear 73 percent possession rate.

Most important Snaken player was Marcin Durzyński. However, Mathieu Fleury made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating peppelaars player was without a doubt Stewart Dyce. Dario Affelay on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 1.

Good result after an early scare, and funny that all 10 regular chances seem to have went my way and got reported in the match report.

Strange thing is though that despite my 6.5 star keeper and me always having better defense ratings than my opponents attack, I've managed to get either a "dominating his wing" or "corner kick" SE goal against me in 6 out of the 7 last matches, even against really weak opposition.
Is it just bad luck, or does the fact I have no head specialists have something to do with this...? I've understood the lack of heads makes you weak at defending corners, maybe the same goes for those winger events?

On a positive note, the crowd turnout was great again and it looks like I will be expanding again for next season. [dance]

quote:Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 22594 to PP SV Arena. PP had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Cohen - Buurman, Kamperman, van Harsselaar - Johnston, Drent, Schulte, Wis, Kiilerich - Niezing, Companjen.

Octopus started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Cammelbeeck - Bos, Bordenave, Rolfsson - Dogaru, Vuillermoz, Baudry, Falmo, Léger - Voloshin, Dopfer.

It was an obvious ambition of Octopus to attack on the flanks. PP took the lead in the 5:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Jarl Kiilerich elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. In the 10th minute PP's Toon Niezing tried to nail the coffin shut, but the shot from the left glanced off the bar to fall behind the net. PP's Sjors Drent got himself booked after a foul. With 29 minutes played Lars van Harsselaar could have brought this one home for PP as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Halftime score was 1 - 0. This part of the game had been a standoff between the teams.

PP put themselves up 2 - 0 when Toon Niezing broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. In the 68th minute of the game, PP's Sjors Drent had to leave the pitch after receiving his second booking. Octopus managed to reduce a bit later to 2 - 1 as Bruno Baudry finished off a well played combination from the left, carving through the defensive box. Some brilliant football from the visitors right wing resulted in a 81st minute levelling of scores as Octopuss Stanislav Voloshin equalised to 2 - 2. Octopus´s Leontin Dogaru refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon in the 81st minute. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when Glenn Dopfer slipped through the defense to come up alone against Zeev Cohen, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. Octopus held the ball, with a clear 55 percent possession rate.

The most dominating PP player was without a doubt Zeev Cohen. Mike Kamperman on the other hand, had a terrible day. Octopus's best player was Evert Cammelbeeck. However, Mats Rolfsson made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 2.

Things went belly up when Drent got red carded. Still I'm not too unhappy with the draw however. Still in 3rd place and judging from the fixtures I should be able to hold my own and stay in 6th division. Also my finances are quite well: 900K atm. With 80K profit per 2 weeks I should be able to end the season with a little over 1M in the bank. Better than expected.

What does worry me is the endless stream of injuries, red cards and form drops. PP SV has weakened tremendously after match 7. I'm trying to postpone buying reinforcements untill the sell of Cohen in the season break but maybe I need some emergency bandages earlier....

Marlins had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Refkivanza - Noonan, Cassella, Packer - Howe, Tuilagi, Waaka, Mayes, Sparke - Allen, Ibrahim.

Marlins saw most attack opportunites on the wings and were directing their passes that way. In the 25:th minute the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending and Mohammad Ibrahim put the ball away for 0 - 1. Marlins's Jimmie Noonan got himself booked after a foul. Le-goas's Lafele Williams scored 1 - 1 by shooting accurately and hard from a long distance, leaving the opponent goalie no other option than to pick up the ball from the net. Marlins had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially in the 38:th minute when Mohammad Ibrahim came up alone against Nick Cousins who managed a block. The referee showed Le-goas's Lafele Williams the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A mistake by the home sides central defence in the 40:th minute allowed Juán Cassella to score 1 - 2 for Marlins. 1 - 2 was the half-time score. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Marlins, with an impressive 64 percent possession of the ball.

The visitors Anthony Allen took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and central backs in the 49:th minute. 1 - 3 for Marlins. In the66:th minute Nick Cousins surprised the guests goaltender with a snappy free kick, reducing their lead to 2 - 3. Marlins´s Malcolm Howe received a play slashing through the home side´s defense in the 67:th minute, chipping it past the keeper scoring 2 - 4. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. The away team´s Mohammad Ibrahim took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 80:th minute increasing Marlins´s lead to 2 - 5. The visitors Jason Mayes took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and central backs in the 81st minute. 2 - 6 for Marlins. The structure of the game started to change as Marlins decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Marlins, with an impressive 77 percent possession of the ball.

Le-goas's best player was Carrol Parsons. However, Nick Cousins made a disastrous appearance. Most important Marlins player was Taylor Tuilagi. Malcolm Howe on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 6.

Pretty easy win. Next week is the last match that I really have any concerns about for this season. I have to win or else I'll be dropping down to 3rd place. Think my chances are pretty good though. :)

quote:Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Adriani Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 50000. shifters had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Ljubisavljevic - Mathiasson, van Wolde, Udilă - Holfeldt, Firiteanu, Popescu, Paulsson, Basten - Messer, Fontaine.

Chimica had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Gruia - Arsenie, Er#337;ss, Ungureanu, Westkreuz - Veres, Ioanitoaia, Ilinca, Gheorghe - Stănilă, Nica.

Chimica were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Chimica showed their counterattack skill in the 16:th minute, with Lucretiu Veres scoring uncontested for 0 - 1. Jan Basten pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, in the 18:th minute, wove through the guests whole central defense line and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. In the game's 19th minute, Chimica's Olivér Er#337;ss fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Olivér Er#337;ss for taking a dive. Chimica spent the match looking to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, Gică Ioanitoaias shot sailed wide right. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 1. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by shifters, with an impressive 72 percent possession of the ball.

51 minutes into the game Gică Ioanitoaia had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Miklós Kiskapusi. Niklas Paulsson of shifters received a yellow card in the 56th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. shifters held the ball, with a clear 74 percent possession rate.

shifters's best player was Cristian Firiteanu. Werner Messer on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Chimica player was without a doubt Florin Gruia. However, Miklós Kiskapusi made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.

A half of revenge for the close loss with 5* porno on my turf. I actually thought this game a lot until I decided for this strategy. A win would have been nicer, but a draw is still good enough against a team that outstarred me 44 - 37.5 and hatstats 187 - 150.

Kemal, the winger event is pretty common and related to the winger skill of the winger compared with the overall ratings of both teams. The corner event is unknown to me and many Hattrick players as well. I know that in order to be successfull you need a relatively good SP taker and as many guys with head as possible.

Thanks yndy for explaining that. [thumbsup]
I suppose I just must have been unlucky to have been conceding that event time and time again even though I've, especially in my league, always had both the best overall team ratings as well as the best winger. Having an opposing 1,5 star wingers create such an event can be disappointing, but then again, a SGL does appear from time to time as well of course. :)

On your game, even though outstarred, seems like you were closest to a win based on the outcome of the match engine rolls, looking at that matchreport. At least you performed way better than most toto players expected.
