Norton Firewall (registration problems)

Having experienced problems with registering on this site (and all other Snitz forum sites), I looked into the issue and discovered a problem with Norton Firewall.

The problem is at the registration stage where if you click "accept" to the policy screen it loops back to the policy screen and you cannot progress.

This is an issue with Norton Personal Firewall (NPF) and Norton Internet Security (NIS).

Solution:

This is an ad blocking and privacy control issue. The data submitted to Snitz forums is detected and blocked by the ad blocking and privacy control features in NIS and NPF. To solve this, configure NIS or NPF to allow information to be sent to www.civ3duelzone.com.

To configure NIS/NPF to allow access to www.civ3duelzone.com

1. Open NIS or NPF.
2. Click Privacy Control > Configure > Advanced > Add Site.
3. In the New Site/Domain dialog box type: www.civ3duelzone.com
4. Click OK.
5. Select the newly created entry for www.civ3duelzone.com.
6. On the User Settings tab, uncheck "Use ad blocking settings."
7. Ensure that Permit is checked.
8. Click OK to close any open windows.

Great discovery. There have been sign up problems in the past iirc. I'll move this to site feedback.
