quote:1443 spectators arrived at Marlin Stadium, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Marlins started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Ansell - Arries, Kent, Wright - Mullane, Mayes, Ashley, Matthews, Howe - Ward, Kent.

Dynamo had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Vold - Remmel, Waliszek, Raybaudi-Massili, Bazak - Jensen, Andersen, Andersen, Molander - Haugland, Orenen.

Some quick foot work on the left side of the field in the 8:th minute left Dynamo´s Ove Haugland completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. In the 12th minute the excellent ball from the wing byMagnus Molander reached Thomas Jensen's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 0 - 2. The structure of the game started to change as Dynamo decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. The game had been on for 15 minutes when Stefan Orenen broke through to the right, upping the score to the home crowd´s dismay. Dynamo´s were up 0 - 3. The visitors Ove Haugland took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and central backs in the 19:th minute. 0 - 4 for Dynamo. In the game's 36th minute, Marlins's Lex Wright fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Lex Wright for taking a dive. Almost all the way down to the corner flag Thomas Jensen somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Stefan Orenen who struck for 0 - 5. After the ball got lifted in from the left Stefan Orenen was on his own in the home side´s penalty area 37 minutes into the game, and should have scored, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. In the 37th minute, Marlins's Malcolm Howe received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 5. Dynamo, bringing the final ball possession rate to 80 percent, dominated the battle.

In the 63rd minute the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 6 as Tom Andersen finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. In the 67:th minute Dynamo put themselves up 0 - 7 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. Scorer was Stefan Orenen. At that, Stefan Orenen was noted down for a hat trick. After 69 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Ove Haugland who increased Dynamo´s lead to 0 - 8. At that, Ove Haugland was noted down for a hat trick. Several players now looked tired, especially Paap Remmel who quite horribly caused the 1 - 8 goal as he lost the ball to Malcolm Howe of Marlins, who seemed to have some energy left. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 79:th minute Dynamo goal, making it 1 - 9. Szymon Waliszek was noted down as the scorer. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 80:th minute Dynamo goal, making it 1 - 10. Stefan Orenen was noted down as the scorer. Dynamo, bringing the final ball possession rate to 81 percent, dominated the battle.

Marlins´s best player was Rodrigo Ward. Malcolm Howe on the other hand, had a terrible day. Dynamo´s best player was Tom Andersen. Stefan Orenen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 10.

A big loss, but I managed to score a goal again! :D

Acorazado 2 - Codrutul 2

I struggled with his 5 star midfielder returning from injury. A fair score IMO.

quote:
Due to an all-day shower, 1802 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Codrutul Doicesti Arena. Codrutul had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Schneider - Cuder, Caillies, Ionescu - Filipescu, Boukhari, Matei, Iliescu, Stanciu - Rupită, Mashkin.

Acorazado started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Adolfsson - van Haaften, Hoekstra, Barzel - Puerta, van der Arend, Geijtenbeek, Păcuraru - Machielse, Leinov, Koene.

Codrutul took the lead in the 8:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Florens Cuder elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. The game was characterized by rough play and many physical challenges. Roberto Rupită showed great heart and had a good game. Petrut Ionescu of Codrutul received a yellow card in the 28th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. In the games 33rd minute Jason Hoekstra bent a free kick around the home teams defensive formation, leaving the goalie completely without a chance to save. Acorazado had evened the score to 1 - 1. In the game's 33th minute, Acorazado's Thijs Geijtenbeek fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Thijs Geijtenbeek for taking a dive. Rogier Machielse knocked one home in the 37:th minute on the counterattack, making the score 1 - 2. 1 - 2 was the half-time score. Codrutul, bringing the final ball possession rate to 60 percent, dominated the battle.

After the ball got lifted in from the left Shalom Leinov was on his own in the home side´s penalty area 61 minutes into the game, and should have scored, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. In the 64:th minute, Codrutul´s Marat Mashkin made a rush down the left, leaving him free to put the 2 - 2 equaliser away. Codrutul created a good opportunity to score in the games 71st minute when Roberto Rupită`s hooked ball created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Codrutul held the ball, with a clear 56 percent possession rate.

The most dominating Codrutul player was without a doubt Gijs Boukhari. Florentin Filipescu was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Acorazado player was without a doubt Thijs Geijtenbeek. Vladimir Păcuraru on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 2.

oops, never thought about that possibility and didn't know what Yanches relation to Yndy was.

Sorry if I offended anyone. [blush]

Solid and well deserved win by Spartak Wageningen over FC De Snaken, even though they used CA when dominating the midfield:

quote:
901 spectators arrived at De Wageningse Berg, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Wageningen tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. The following players had been chosen: Reyerse - Pantelić, Cargill, Attema - Di Tomasso, Goudena, Smyth, Rovirosa - van Amsberg, Vanenburg, Buijing.

Snaken started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Miłek - de Hondt, Meesen, Öztürk - Struikman, Lucado, Fjällander, Fjelmar, Irvine - van Schaffelaar, Enevoldsen.

Wageningen were relying on their ability to counter-attack. In the games 3rd minute Tjibbe van Schaffelaar almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a spectacular scissors shot just past the bar. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Snaken's Wilm Meesen got himself booked. Niels Enevoldsen gave the visitors the lead in the 5:th minute with 0 - 1. The goal was scored from the penalty spot after a handball call in the penalty area. Wageningen´s Jan-Willem Buijing made a successful breakthrough attempt in the game´s 23rd minute and should have levelled the score, but clipped it over the bar. Almost all the way down to the corner flag Ciro Di Tomasso somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Yuri Vanenburg who struck for 1 - 1. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 29:th minute goal by Tigo Goudena for Wageningen, putting them ahead 2 - 1. Halftime score was 2 - 1. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Wageningen, with an impressive 52 percent possession of the ball.

Jan-Willem Buijing almost managed to score another goal for Wageningen, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. Yuri Vanenburg almost managed to score another goal for Wageningen, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. The referee showed Wageningen's Jan-Willem Buijing the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Wageningen´s Yuri Vanenburg putting the lead up to 3 - 1. The referee showed Wageningen's Ivan Pantelić the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Yuri Vanenburg almost managed to score another goal for Wageningen, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. The cannonball from 35 metres by Paul Smyth of Wageningen was an impressive sight, but didn´t make it into the net. Wageningen held the ball, with a clear 55 percent possession rate.

Wageningen´s best player was Yuri Vanenburg. However, Ricardo Rovirosa made a disastrous appearance. Snaken´s best player was Stanisław Miłek. However, Theow de Hondt made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 1.

quote:Chemists - Chimica Tarnaveni 5 - 2
Date: 3/17/2005 at 01.00
MatchID: 38083911
Arena: Chemists Arena
Crowd: 2151
At Chemists Arena, 2151 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Chemists had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Fugate - Cueto, Manh-Dung, Parker - Collazo, Vivas, De Moral, Dobbins - Brown, del Valle, Neely.

Chimica had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Musat - Alexandru, Arsenie, Constantin - Veres, Marinescu, Dobos, Pascu, Oan#227; - Rosca, Neagu.

In the 19:th minute the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending and Horatiu Pascu put the ball away for 0 - 1. A well placed corner kick from Paraschiv Musat was followed by Lucretiu Veres#180;s hard but accurate header. The nice combination meant goal for Chimica. The result now 0-2. Chemists reduced the score in the 29:th minute to 1 - 2 when Baudelio De Moral got the best of a ball floated in from the left. Chemists#180;s Marco Vivas put his head to a high ball coming in from the right in the 35:th minute, but the ball went wide. Mao Manh-Dung received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 39:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score. Marco Vivas pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, in the 39:th minute, wove through the guests whole central defense line and put the 2 - 2 equaliser away. Chemists made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in from the right hand side left Marco Vivas completely alone with keeper Paraschiv Musat, who made a spectacular block. Chimica seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and were down to the passable level of organisation. The teams went for a half-time break at 2 - 2. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Chemists, with an impressive 72 percent possession of the ball.

The Chimica players spent the half-time break getting a rerun of the teams tactical organization and regained a solid organisation. In the 57:th minute the home side managed to get a 3 - 2 lead as Javier del Valle flipped the ball after a cross pass from the right. Chimica seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and were down to the passable level of organisation. Carlos Cueto increased Chemists#180;s lead to 4 - 2 from a penalty spot cannonball. The structure of the game started to change as Chemists decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. After an industrious effort down the middle Marco Vivas could have closed the game off in the 82nd minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. Chimica seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and were down to the inadequate level of organisation. Chemists put their lead ahead another goal as Jeffrey Brown struck home the 5 - 2 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. After 83 minutes Chemists#180;s Burt Parker contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. A great save by goaltender Paraschiv Musat in the 84th minute kept the visitors in the game as Jeffrey Brown struck from the left with a real cannonball. 84 minutes into the game Johnny Neely had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Mark Patton. Chemists held the ball, with a clear 80 percent possession rate.

Very many opportunities for both sides and very many missed. Still the relationship between total number of opportunities and number of missed opportunities is a big mistery to me.
