Can I organise a friendly against a random opponent?

yes, because Dell indicated to be playing the final of the BDF cup. So you win 5-0. And are free to arrange a friendly against anybody.

0-7-3 is the latest in formation it seems. It worked twice against Sweden but failed to produce a result in the CDZ cup.

ProPain
23-03-2005, 20:52
I told Stephan about the 0-7-3 defeats the Swedes suffered. He laughed and told me it was unwise to tip him off with a match against me coming up.

But then I forgot to changeover to my B-squad. So I lose a week of keeper training on my 2nd keeper [cry] but at least I won pretty convincing

Shabbaman
23-03-2005, 21:51
0-7-3 is only for teams with good midfielders. He could've tried 2-5-3 or something.

Dell19
23-03-2005, 23:16
And also for teams that don't care about training. I agree that you would need to be in the unusual situation of having a large number of decent IMs to make it worthwhile which international teams can easily have.

View game: HT Live

MatchID: 38842979
Arena: Meli's Manglers Arena
Crowd: 1116

Due to an all-day shower, 1116 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Meli's Manglers Arena. Manglers had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Becerra - Castellanos, Carrol, Radley - Magnusson, Carroll, Almlius, Sprengen, Quigley-Parks - Young, van de Duin.

Chimica tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Musat - Marinescu, Diaconu, Constantin - Pascu, Macavei, Dobos, Oană, Damian - Rosca, Neagu.

Chimica were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Bill Carrol behaved like an inexperienced youth player in the 18:th minute as he gave the ball away to an opponent. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Many thought Andy Quigley-Parks ought to have been awarded a penalty shot in the 20:th minute, as he went down trying to circle the visitors keeper Paraschiv Musat. Manglers created a good opportunity to score in the games 22nd minute when Frank Magnusson`s hooked ball created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Chimica spent the match looking to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, Octavian Neagus shot sailed wide right. The referee showed Chimica's George Macavei the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Manglerss Bart Young gave, after 35 minutes, the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 0. Manglers held the ball, with a clear 84 percent possession rate.

In the 51st minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Bart Young dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Manglers. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Bart Young squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 62nd minute, asserting the lead to 3 - 0. By then Bart Young was a three time scorer - a hat trick! The structure of the game started to change as Manglers decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like Hogan Radley whose skills weren´t made justice at all. With 81 minutes played Bill Carrol could have brought this one home for Manglers as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Manglers's Frank Magnusson got himself booked after a foul. After an industrious effort down the middle Roddy Carroll could have closed the game off in the 86:th minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Manglers, with an impressive 93 percent possession of the ball.

Manglers's best player was Urban Almlius. Hogan Radley was a disappointment, however. Chimica's best player was Octavian Neagu. Horatiu Pascu was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 0.

Nice possession, shame about the score.

No injuries, so that's nice.

Grasshoppers Elm - Chemists 4 - 1

Date: 12.04.2005 um 18:30
MatchID: 38780934
Arena: Grasshoppers Elm Arena
Crowd: 1807

At Grasshoppers Elm Arena, 1807 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Grasshoppers tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Raunecker - Wenham, MĂĽnster, Faure, Klinser - Nesland, Dohmen, Engebretsen, Hederer, Kirchlengern - Toggenburger.

Chemists started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. Lineup: Fugate - Beal, Cueto, Manh-Dung - Collazo, Stoleru, Vivas, Dobbins - Brown, Neely, Salatelli.

It was an obvious ambition of Chemists to attack on the flanks. In the 9:th minute cheers broke out as Vincent Dohmen found his way through the guests central defense line, clipping the 1 - 0 goal in for Grasshoppers. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Grasshoppers lead up with 2 - 0. Kristoffer Engebretsen finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. A peculiar volley from Henning Hederer almost resulted in a goal, but Manfred Kirchlengern wasn't able to exploit the well-timed pass. In the 25:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Artur Toggenburger dashed through, knocking home 3 - 0 for Grasshoppers. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Grasshoppers lead up with 4 - 0. Artur Toggenburger finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. The structure of the game started to change as Grasshoppers decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. The referee showed Chemists's Carlos Cueto the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The teams went for a half-time break at 4 - 0. Grasshoppers, bringing the final ball possession rate to 62 percent, dominated the battle.

Chemists kept trying to force their way through on the right side. Jeffrey Brown got his chance in the 46:th minute, but the home sides left defence held his position and was able to stop the attack. Carlos Cueto could´ve grabbed a goal in the 50:th minute when he got a pass putting him free of the home side´s defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. Chemists fought on and, in the 51st minute Stefano Salatelli was able to reply with 4 - 1 after some excellent moves on the right side finished off by an incredibly clever chip. In the 70th minute Grasshoppers's Kristoffer Engebretsen tried to nail the coffin shut, but the shot from the left glanced off the bar to fall behind the net. Chemists, bringing the final ball possession rate to 53 percent, dominated the battle.

The most dominating Grasshoppers player was without a doubt Vincent Dohmen. Mathias Wenham on the other hand, had a terrible day. Chemists's best player was Darius Beal. Jonathan Collazo on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 1.

I did win!!!!
I have tricked akots. I had played the last games in the cup AIM, but since my A-winger couldn't play on saturday, I played normal this time.
OK, all chances mentioned in the first half were mine, ehich is a bit extreme, but now I know that I got in a very tough group because Chemists is second in group 1 and I have made all my 4 points against them...
but maybe I will be the best of the last placed teams...

Kemal

That Mathias Wenham on the other hand truly had a terrible day indeed, are you sure he's suited for a job as wingback? ;)

Yep, good game it was indeed! At least no injuries which is a sort of consolation to me. And poor Chemists certainly don't belong to the second place in Group 1, it was somewhat undeserved to the very least.

Hey, according to Hattrick buddy, I have one player who's even worse as wingback, my B-goalkeeper...
Normally he would have played as winger towards middle if my A-winger had played on saturday.
And the guy who played wingback in the other cup games is still 3 weeks injured...
It seems that the Chemists players have laughed so much about Wenham's wingback abilities that they couldn't concentrate on playing football...

Well, Snaken got hammered by Dell's excellent forwards, ratings weren't that far apart (unfortunately I messed up my TS just before the match) but a loss was inevitable.
Congrats Dell!

quote:
1840 spectators arrived at FC De Snaken Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Snaken had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Miłek - Vreugdenhil, Öztürk, Poorter - Struikman, Böőr, Fjällander, Roest, Irvine - van Schaffelaar, Kitslaar.

Wartham had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Gray - Edwards, Matthews, Budd - Mika, Crook, Moulin, Laporte - Rowan, Ryan, Smets.

Wartham mostly ignored the flanks in favour of attacks in the middle. After 19 minutes Warthams Matthew Ryan made his way through the middle, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. After 27 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Matthew Ryan who increased Wartham´s lead to 0 - 2. The referee showed Wartham's Tony Rowan the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 28 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Matthew Ryan who increased Wartham´s lead to 0 - 3. This third goal made a hat trick for Matthew Ryan. When Tony Rowan made yet another studs first tackle in the game's 32th minute, the referee was obliged to book the Wartham player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. Snaken´s Krisztián Böőr refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon in the 36:th minute. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 3. Wartham, bringing the final ball possession rate to 59 percent, dominated the battle.

Wartham had, after 48 minutes of the game, worked the left side industriously, creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but somehow didn´t achieve closure. After 55 minutes Lois Kitslaar could have reduced had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors keeper Allen Gray. Joakim Fjällander of Snaken received a yellow card in the 68th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Jules Moulin came close to extending the visitors lead as he, completely unmarked in front of the goal, lifted a ball over Stanisław Miłek, hitting the bar. After 80 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Nicolae Laporte who increased Wartham´s lead to 0 - 4. By now Wartham were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Wartham held the ball, with a clear 58 percent possession rate.

I've just realised with 10 minutes to go that I messed up my lineup. I'm playing 3-5-2 because I sold Wallace and it changed his slot back to a winger so I've had two confusion events and will lose out on training for one player this week. Also got an injury.

Exciting end it will be as far as group 4 is concerned... Toffee's of course lightyears ahead but all other 4 can still qualify for the final or end last in the group, based on the results of the last match next week!

The road to the final was actually all open for De Snaken this edtion, but failing to get a single point from the home games against Wartham and Spartak Wageningen I think I'm pretty much done for, unless I pull off a win vs Toffee's.... ok I'm done for indeed.

Supporters are furious as they suspect ties between FC De Snaken and Snaken Spelersmakelaars BV (A company helping promising keepers get improved contracts at other clubs) may be to blame for the result, as De Snaken coach was forced by those in charge to field 2 keepers on the wings vs Spartak Wageningen. Complaints have also been made by the players that all those new faces that come and go aren't helping to build a good atmosphere to play football in...

Congrats to Spartak Wageningen of course for a good tactical counterattack vic of course. :)

With the last matches in the group stages coming up we need to decide how to proceed in the next rounds.

Easiest would be to draw now (after this round) and allocate teams to the letters. The schedule would be:
quarterfinals
1: A - B
2: C - D
3: E - F
4: G - H
semi finals
5 winner 1 - winner 2
6 winner 3 - winner 4
final
winner 5 - winner 6

of course all the other teams will be playing as well.

The alternative is making a new draw after each roud.
Either is fine by me, I'll be available to assist late Thursday evening, but if anyone wants to pick this up before that time, please do so!

good luck to everyone this last round!

yndy
25-04-2005, 16:49
You've been handling the tournament excellent so far, and I might not be available for a timely draw so on my side, go ahead by all means.

The rest of the matches need to be set up as well, probably based on a similar pattern.

socralynnek
26-04-2005, 13:43
How about the following schedule:
There are 4 buckets with 4 teams
Bucket 1: First placed teams of the 4 groups
Bucket 2: Second placed teams of the 4 groups and so on

Matches for places 1 to 8:
Quarterfinal:
Four matches of kind:One of Bcuket 1 against one of Bucket 2 played at the stadium of the first one

Semifinals:
Winner 1 - Winner 2
Winner 3 - Winner 4

Semifinal, match for third place and final played on neutral ground with stadium chosen by schip in a stadium of one of our players from a different country

The losers of the quarterfinal play also on neutral ground (to be discussed, one could also draw again who plays at home)

For places from 9-16 the same setup with bucket 3 and 4, but here after each round, the next round will be drawn, to determine who gets a home match.

For places 17-20 round robin
1. A-B and C-D
2. B-C and D-A
3. A-C and B-D

where A and B are the teams that have got the most points of those four in the league stage (such that I can play twice at home...;) )

Dell19
26-04-2005, 14:40
I am not sure whether I will be able to break into that second group. Depends if I can pick up a point tonight, otherwise I would be the team with the most points in the bottom section.

socralynnek
26-04-2005, 16:26
Yeah, definately (I won't get a point against FC Suca) but Team B would also have two home games...

Well, it was do or die for Snaken, but in the end the hope of a positive result was always an illusion.

quote:
2011 spectators had found their way to Toffee's Utd Arena, despite the heavy rain. Toffees started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Sauter - Hickey, Williams, Fisher - Sutton, Erflod, Fujishiro, Munz, Liguori - Hollenstein, Edwards.

Snaken had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Raunio - Poorter, Öztürk, Roest - Fjällander, Lucado, Kajak, Balyon, Hintermayr - Böőr, de Silguy.

The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 in the 4:th by a breakthrough from Robbie Edwards, who unaided came in out of the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors keeper. In the 4th minute, Snaken's Florian Lucado received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. There wasn´t much opportunity for rapid movements this wet day, which hindered Pierre-André Hollenstein in particular. In the games 23rd minute, Lee Hickey could have extended the lead, but his very hard free kick went just over the bar. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Stuart Sutton squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 31st minute, asserting the lead to 2 - 0. In the 40th minute, Snaken's Laurenty Kajak received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The teams went for a half-time break at 2 - 0. Toffees held the ball, with a clear 58 percent possession rate.

After 58 minutes Snaken´s Baldemar Hintermayr contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Simon Erflod squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 58:th minute, asserting the lead to 3 - 0. Harald Fujishiro of Toffees received a yellow card in the 60th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Florian Lucado was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn´t move the ball around with his usual grace. Toffees, bringing the final ball possession rate to 57 percent, dominated the battle.

Most important Toffees player was Harald Fujishiro. Stuart Sutton was a disappointment, however. Snaken's best player was Wietse Balyon. However, Theodorus Roest made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 0.

I tried to contain the Toffee midfield by throwing everything I had at trying to increase possession, but in the end it just wasn't good enough. Congrats to EB, Snaken for the third time miss out on the final round.

@Schip: If need be I can participate in a draw as well on thursday, for whatever needs to be done then.. (throwing dice? ;)).

Due to an all-day shower, 1598 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at The Yellow Boot. Yellow started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Pickens - Haas, Knott, Hawkins - Visan, Mahmoud, Villar, Righetti, Pilar - Tomlin, Burney.

Aristocats tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Saranpää - Rossen, Maassen, Ajello, Angelle, Nivellini - Wagenaar, Korsten, Dominkovic - Timmers, Thöny.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Aristocats. In the to 5:th minute a very unfortunate collision in the home teams penalty area led to Aristocats´s Rouven Thöny being carried off the pitch and replaced by Miklós Latinovics. Yellow got a penalty shot in the 10:th minute, but Shadi Qassem Mahmoud fumbled the shot slightly and Asmo Saranpää was able to block. 13 minutes into the game, Miklós Latinovics finished off a left wing counter attack, scoring 0 - 1 for Aristocats. Randy Rossen of Aristocats received a yellow card in the 26th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 27 minutes Aristocats´s Miklós Latinovics contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Yellow, bringing the final ball possession rate to 83 percent, dominated the battle.

In the 51th minute, Aristocats's Gianmaria Nivellini received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Yellow were forced to a substitution as Shadi Qassem Mahmoud couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Tom Allesch to come in from the sidelines. After 57 minutes Michel Righetti got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn´t get the shot away. Serban Visan was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the enemy box - Billie Tomlin managed to kick one of them into 1 - 1 in the 64:th minute. In the 75:th minute the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as Billie Tomlin flipped the ball after a cross pass from the right. Billie Tomlin hit the ball just perfect in the 82nd minute and could score for Yellow with a fab long shot to 3 - 1. By then Billie Tomlin was a three time scorer - a hat trick! Yellow held the ball, with a clear 83 percent possession rate.

The most dominating Yellow player was without a doubt Alejandro Villar. However, Theodore Burney made a disastrous appearance. Aristocats's best player was Daniel Ajello. Roderick Wagenaar on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 1.
I was losing for a majority of the game, despite 83% possesssion. Fortunately for me, a hat trick (including two special events) by one of my forwards late in the game saved the day and gave me my 6th win in 8 games.

I'm looking forward to the elimination stage!

quote:Chemists - Meli's Manglers 4 - 3
Date: 4/28/2005 at 01.00
MatchID: 39119943
Arena: Chemists Arena
Crowd: 2317

2317 spectators had come to Chemists Arena this cloudy day. Chemists had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: Fugate - Beal, Cueto, Manh-Dung - Collazo, Robitaille, Stoleru, De Moral - del Valle, Neely, Salatelli.

Manglers started off with a 5-3-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Becerra - Radley, Carrol, Magnusson, Castellanos, Bryan - Young, Dzhugashvili, Mottram - van de Duin, Eriksson.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Manglers. Stefano Salatelli gave his Chemists the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post. Chemists's Johnny Neely got himself booked after a foul. Some brilliant football from the visitors right wing resulted in a 17:th minute levelling of scores as Manglerss Tomas H. Eriksson equalised to 1 - 1. Mark Bryan got left behind when Chemists#180;s Jonathan Collazo made a sudden pull forward in the 30:th minute, finishing off with a swift strike. 2-1! Manglers spent the match looking to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, Bart Youngs shot sailed wide right. Chemists's Baudelio De Moral got himself booked after a foul. Manglers appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. Johnny Neely increased Chemistss lead to 3 - 1 by putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. The teams went for a half-time break at 3 - 1. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Chemists, with an impressive 59 percent possession of the ball.

During the break Manglers#180;s coach went through the teams new tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. Darius Beal increased Chemistss lead to 4 - 1 by putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. Manglers showed some good morale and were, in the 67th minute, able to reduce the score to 4 - 2 as Bart Young got past the home side's full backs right in front of the goal. The cannonball from 35 metres by Bart Young of Manglers was an impressive sight, but didn#180;t make it into the net. Manglers was great at switching from defense to attack, and in the 89:th minute, Mark Bryan swept through in the middle after such a counter attack, making 4 - 3. Hogan Radley received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 89:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score. Johnny Neely almost managed to score another goal for Chemists, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. Manglers seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and were down to the weak level of organisation. Chemists held the ball, with a clear 61 percent possession rate.

Chemists's best player was Baudelio De Moral. Jonathan Collazo on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Manglers player was without a doubt Xavio van de Duin. Stephen Mottram was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 3.

Still second due to goal difference though. [sad]

Kemal
05-05-2005, 13:13
I've spoken to PP about this, he's okay if it is decided by throwing a coin... haven't been able to contact Yanche on the matter yet, but I suppose there is little to bring in against letting this thing be decided by pure randomness, as apparently the HT-engine felt the two teams were perfectly in balance with regard to quality on the (virtual) pitch.

Therefore, I'll (or maybe better one of the forum mods/cup organizers) just throw a die here to decide the matter I suppose, to clear this up. :)

Kemal
05-05-2005, 14:40
Since obviously clarity is needed, and it does not matter much really who actually throws the die in the end, I've just decided the Codrutul D. - PP SV match myself via a coinflip.

First, unlikely it will help. Second, I would have to play forward trainees as midfeilds to get passing training. [sad]

Where shall we play the final Ciuly? Any preference?

You chose the place. Let it be an exotic one, my players need a vacation afterwards. They did well this season. :)

I went for Mexico in the end. I wanted Cyprus ideally but all the teams I tried were already booked. :)

Since both Chemists and me come from the USA, I decided to challenge him to a domestic friendly, to cut travel costs. I chose the promoting member of my series, who is a chemist himself and started the Hattrick Chemists Federation. I figured it'd be appropriate. ;)

hmm

My opponents appear to have already organised a friendly??? [confused]

Should I get myself a friendly too?

Does it also mean I get a walkover win to 7th place? [goodjob]

Yes, it seems CZS already organised another friendly for the 2nd time in a row, for whatever reason... [sad]

Means a 5-0 win indeed, and I presume you already booked yourself another friendly already too. :)

A 3-5 win for me! :) Although I'm surprised either of us managed to score what with both of us counter-attacking.

Dell19

4-0 down at half time. That could have something to do with playing most of the game with wretched organisation skill.

Kemal

Well done to Black Marlins [goodjob], but that also means that...

yndy's famous Chimica Tarnaveni will end this season's CDZ cup carrying the red lantern! [eek]

Time to get your revenge next edition I suppose yndy? Really, you can't let a club with so much tradition fall back so much in the rankings now, can you...?

Dell19
18-05-2005, 11:52
Thrawn, why are you playing 1 IM and 2 wingers in your friendly games when training playmaking?

socralynnek
18-05-2005, 14:36
I guess he's training stamina (as I do) this week!?!!
6-0 win in yndy's stadium for me at the end. So at least one team was succesful there...

Dell19
18-05-2005, 14:51
Nah because he plays 5-3-2 in all his friendlies.

Kemal
18-05-2005, 18:34
Wow, very tense and close games going on atm between FC De Snaken vs Spartak Wageningen (2-2 atm) and PP SV vs Shabba FC (1-1)... too bad I just noticed the final is taking place at 02:00 HT time, not likely to attract that many spectators I suppose this year!

edit: both games in overtime now...

Kemal
18-05-2005, 19:31
[lol], I actually set my penalty takers for this game, and have a magnificent keeper defending the Snaken goal... and end up losing 4-5 on penalties!

Congrats to Spartak W, no injuries during the match fortunately, though I'm troubled by the surprisingly low midfield rating I managed to obtain in this game. :(

Q
18-05-2005, 20:06
And I forgot to select my penaltytakers! :-)

Kingreno

Kemal, you have 2 out of 3 inner mids on offensive and only one winger, who is also on offensive, that may explain the poor midfield.

This match wasn't arranged, but it is unclear to me why not... no win can be awarded yet, and really it seems the cup has lost lots of its former glory, with all the walkovers.. :(

Dom Ducks 0-0 AET Aristocats*
Aristocats wins 1-3 on penalties.

I kinda see your point.

But a lot of walkovers resulted from reasonable requests.

I WILL NOT LET THIS CUP DIE!

Next season is gonna be all singing, all dancing.

There will be participation.

I propose a multitude of awards. Bragging rights. The whole sheebang. (wait that was 1 letter away from sheepbang and surely that aint right)

I will beg plead and implore Mistfit to make us some well deserved additions to our profile.

I will ask the admins favour in bestowing an extra avatar (maybe a pic in their sig?) declaring how good they were in the cup.

I plan to go statistics mad on this.

I will learn how to code active server pages.

This must go on!

I issue once again a call to arms to the men of hattrick!

Stand up for your sport and sit down and plan somink great. Plan something good. Promote not just an idea but an inspiration!

Correct. I haven't played 5-3-2 in all my friendlies either Dell19. :p Only in those where I was experimenting with Counter-Attacking, which has only been a few games.

Nice match english_brit! [thumbsup]

First time i've lost possesion here in CDZ cup. Fortunatly for me, the middfield isn't everything anymore. I got 4 ocasions, scored all of them. I guess your almost WO in the qualification match lowered your team confidence pretty much, and because of this you lack to score more than once.

1-4 final score. I'm still the cdz cup winner. :)

Yes, Meli, I think, ciuly now deserves an avatar from Mistfit for winning the cup twice...
You should ask him nicely...

This match wasn't arranged, but it is unclear to me why not... no win can be awarded yet, and really it seems the cup has lost lots of its former glory, with all the walkovers.. :(

It was an unfortunate chain of events. My wif ... er ... Yanche tried to challenge Swingue Sunday evening but it was during the matches in Netherlands and she could not issue the challenge (a rule I have seen for the first time). On Monday evening, she challenged Swingue while he was online but because he does not have Supporter he did not see he was challenged. When Swingue logged on again Tuesday night, he saw the challenge but could not accept it because international challenges can not be accepted after 18.00 HT time on Tuesday. So they managed to arrange national friendlies.

It was an unfortunate situation and they both spend little time online so they could not correctly arrange the match. Anyway, given the circumstances, I think Swingue would agree that Codrutul should be awarded the victory and the unlucky 13th place.

With regard to my red lantern, I am on one side happy that everyone else had at least a victory in the Cup, I had that feeling that noone deserves to take part in the CDZ cup and loose 10 games in a row. Now, I did not expect me to be dead last but that's life :(. I warned you from the beginning that I will have a bad run due to training shooting and playing with 10-11 scorers every time.

This disadvantage of shooting is really unpleasant, I would not have stareted this training if I knew but there's little I can do now.
