OK, I'm British. Let's talk about the weather...

Does it ever affect how or who you play?

Do you even know how to check the weather report?

First thing to add is this little chart on the weather. As far as I know only Sunny or Raining affects your players. Only specialist players seem to be affected by the weather (apart from the effect of the weather on the spectator turn-out) and here is the list.

Sunny Rain
Technical Scoring, PM Scoring, PM
Powerful Scoring, more Tired Scoring, Defending, PM
Quick Defending Scoring, Defending

Green is skills gained, Red is skills lost.

Looking at the weather for your match its best to check the day before and on the day itself. This will give you the forcast for the current day and the day after. These forcasts aren't perfect but I would say at least 90% correct.

To check the weather for your match, find out where its being played and click on the link for that club. Then click on the clubs regional link (mine's Hampshire). This will give you the weather report.

Final point I noticed, when I was looking at regions, if you play someone from the same region as you Nobody gets the Home Team advantage (This goes some way to my final 1-6 thrashing on my last match of the season, the team was from the same region as me :()

Hope the weather's nice where you are!

Nice info.

I never let the weather affect who I play. The weather special events happen so infrequently it's never really a consideration.

I'm from Bedfordshire and not many other players are so don't often have derbies.

I'm in the Nottinghamshire region which doesn't have a huge number of teams. I've never really looked at the weather because I don't have enough players with specialities anyway.

I’m sure you know that but I’ll first mention that the weather is random, regardless where you live or the time of the year.

Now what I do is avoid buying players that are prone to bad weather events like quick defenders, while I try to buy my defenders powerfull. You can choose your trainees to try to maximize outcome of weather events like I play my Technical forward in the sun but I play a replacement in the rain. Unfortunately I can’t afford to do the same with others so I do not want to buy a Technical or Powerfull midfielder.
