Turn 1-20:

turn 6: I am player 2 instead of player 5. I discover this to late so we decide to carry on...
turn 10: the governour does a stupid thing, I lose a turn of building a worker.
turn 13: barbs appear I think an AI popped a hut near my teritory
turn 16: I lose a warrior which was forifie din my capitol [mad]. This messes up my building queue.
turn 17: meet the Egyptians, they are 4 techs ahead.
turn 19: meet the Koreans they have snatched a nearby lux (my lux) [mad] I trade Marsony for Bronze Working and 2 gold. They have 2 workers but I cant buy them. From the direction which the Egyptians went a barbs comes to us [mad]
turn 20: The Egyptian warrior kills the barb! [cool]

Well, I met the Egyptians and Koreans now. They both have three cities.

ERIKK

BTW: the players are:
Chinese (aggie), Carthaginians (ERIKK),
Greeks, Koreans, Romans, Ottomans, Celts, Egyptians.

I hope the Romans and Celts arent my neighbours! I havent met them so far...

Aggie hasnt met anyone so far (turn 20).

turn 20-30:

turn 25: settle and pop a hut: nothing
turn 26: aggie meets a civ!
turn 27: have met Greece(?) and they know China (aggie).
turn 30: deal with aggie: writing + 7 gold for cermonial burial, pottery and warrior code and a non agression pact till the Medieval Ages. He knows the Celts too so I can assume they and Greece are his neighbours. He had bronze working too so he must have made some good tech deals or popped huts!

turn 30-40:

turn 35: I research the wheel but aggie cant trade anything he says. He has nop tech nor money and is in a financial crises (why?)
turn 36: The Greeks are expanding like crazy, they have 8 cities now. I expect a war soon, some AI will not tollerate this. I hope on a Egyptian-Greek war [satan] Meanwhile the Celts (4 cities) stay small.
turn 37: Aggie paid to an AI gpt for mysticism and trades it to me for the wheel. He puts all his money in deals with the AI. The Celts have iron working and no mysticism but wont trade it. I made an error in the location of my new city Treveste. After settling I discovered it is right next to the Egyptian border :(. I must hurry a temple there...
turn 38: barbs in the south... :( I need a merc!
turn 39: my scout warrior dies against a barb [mad]
turn 40: set lux to 50% and escorted with 2 warriors my new settler down south. Another warrior moves from Utica to protect Carthage. (see pic)

Turn 40-62

turn 40-50: nothing special.
turn 50-56: barbs hang around a city with a mercenary in it. They do not attack it...
turn 55: Egypt beats me to a city location next to my capital in the desert! [mad]
turn 57: Fortified mercenary in city almost dies against barb horse.
turn 59: Aggie has WM and has more techs than me. Somehow he managed to trade techs with the AI's... We research HBR but Aggie already has it. Going for Map Making now.
turn 62: Trade horses + wines to Egypt for WM + 9 gold. Make a trade round and earn 30 gold more on the map. Take a look at the map and see it is VERY rocky and icy and dry AND ALSO warm AND wet... And very big too. Very odd that we havent seen the Ottomans yet???? Where are they?

turn 69-70: stack sof Greek uunits pass along toward Korea. Roman threat.
turn 72: Galley built for exploring and selling WM each turn. Greek threat.
turn 73: Egypt and Greece ally against Korea.

turn 78 - 107:

turn 91: peace Korea - Egypt.
turn 92: research Currency but Egypt had it in 91 and traded it in turn 91-92, just before me! [mad]. I can only sell it to the Celts. Egypt moves into the wrong direction while retreating from the war... [eek] Things look very dangerous!!!

<<picture>>

turn 97: Yeah! Exactly what I hoped for: Egypt declared war on the Greeks!
turn 99: Egypt got Feudalism. I have to wait with my attack till 106 to end a lux deal first.
turn 101: my suicide galley sinks :(
turn 106: I attack the Egyptians and take two of their cities. Their iron city had 2 pikes in it. In total I lost like 5 or 6 horses. I bought the Koreans and the Greek in the war and gained CoL with it. They are both gracious now.

We are somewhere around turn 118 and I have taken 4 cities form Egypt and will soon take a 5th and like 4 turns after that take Thebes with Sun Tzu in it. The Egyptians have upgraded all the spears to pikes (I think) and that sucks. Fortunally I am producing swords, mercs and horses in two turns in 4 cities (all big). Lux is still on 50% though. I am still way behind in tech but I will get 3 from Egypt soon [evil]

turn 122:

one of my conquered cities flipped back, it was size=2, set on starvation to size=1 with 3 units in it but it still flipped :(

Around turn 140: peace with Egypt (one city left) for 3 (avaiable) techs + all their gold + 35 gold per turn (how they do that????) Got lots of elite battles but NO leader goddamnit!!! :(

Aggie got the Lighthouse from the Celts (very important because the Ottomans are still not discovered) and I got the Great Wall and Sun Tzu from the Egypts.

Turn 156:

I am ahead of the celts and ottomans in tech. I am closing in on the romans, egyptians and koreans (in tech). I think the Greeks are flying away in techs with Aggie on their tail.

8 turns till the FP in the center of my lands. I am bussy doing empire building atm. It is suprising my cities are growing on this fucking planet. Lucky that every single one has crappy lands!

Aggie is preparing for war as he has to exploit his Riders of course. If he is smart he whipes out the Greeks (the strongest) and take the tech lead. All others are bussy or incapable to do something about it:

- The Romans and Koreans seem to like their war (that is on for ages now). The Romans lack iron. The Koreans are fighting the entire game with different parties.
- The Ottomans are stuck on their island
- The Celts and Egyptians are reduced to one city
- I am stuck with 20 turn deal with Aggie and am to far away from him. Also I have to do empire-building as I have been at war for 40 turns (+40 preparing for war)

ERIKK

Turn 165:

The Romans declared war on Aggie! [eek] He is lucky as he was preparing for war... He will probably draw the Greeks in the war too so I will profit from it by getting back on the research top and staying out of the mess! The Greeks are still gracious to me thank God!

Also in this turn: I build the FP! :) and researched Gunpowder. I was able to trade gunpowder to Korea for Theology, to Egypt for Music theory + gold and saltpeter + wines + some money for Education to Greece! I am know lagging Banking and Astronomy AFAIK and researching Chemistry in 10 turns. I also have a 3rd saltpeter in the neighbourhood. When it is connected I might have a nice trade again :)!

Turn 174:

researched chemistry and traded it + 2 luxiouries for:
- spices
- 15 gpt
- 200 gold
- 2 ROP's (Egypt and Rome)
- astronomy, navigation and banking
- Rome turned gracious

All are polite now except Greece and Rome
(gracious, how comfortable!) and Egypt (still furious)

I am now the tech leader (together with Greece)!
This is remarkable since I was way behind in tech
in turn 140 (8 techs (or even more) behind). I had
two good trade rounds on the lower tech tree (gunpowder
netting me 4 techs + lots of gold and chemistry
netting me 3 techs and lots of gold). Meanwhile I
have upgraded 60% of my horses (20) to knights. All
cities are building improvements. I am in the subtop on
culture. Aggie seems to ignore culture but does have a
weaker military. I wonder where his shields go... [eek]

turn 175:
We declared war on the Chinese after they suddenly whiped out
our trade Celtic trade-partners! The Romans and Greeks joined
us (They just (this turn) signed peace with the romans [eek]!)

Alliance costs: 17 gpt greece, 20 gpt romans.

turn 176:

I move my attack force of 5 knights towards the only saltpeter
city of Aggie. More slower units follow. Maybe I will be able
to take it. I expect The greeks the keep aggie bussy more to
the east-northeast (see minimap in picture below).

I am still stronger tyeh china in military units and the greeks stronger than me.

More alliances to cut Aggie off from friends (his potential
allies and trading partners):
- korea (13 gtp)
- egypt (banking)

I waited for aggie one turn to set them up against me (which
would have been nice for some city grabbing [evil]. Now I can
relocate troops again...

ERIKK

Turn 179:

I am ready to attack the seltpeter city in the west and some troops have reached the greek-chinese frontier in the east. Unfortunally the Greeks have lost 1 city and did not do what I hoped for. Now Aggie can attack 1 of my knights...

More troops are on their way!

Nice comeback there from what, 7 techs behind ? [goodjob]

Are you sure you can hold on to that saltpeter town though ? It's rather far from your reinforcements and much closer to Aggie - plus he won't really need it until Cavalry anyway. It might be a waste of five perfectly good knights.

ERIKK

turn 180:
- lost one knight, killed one rider
- aggie disbanded his saltpeter town
- got lots of units closing in on Mycenae
- Rome and Korea have peace :)
in the end turn:
- two rider were attacked but barly survived
- one rider was killed
- more Greek units arrived
- Chinese units (auto-)move in the northwestern region

No more saltpeter for Aggie:

More pressure on Mycenae:

turn 181:
- lost two knight, killed two riders
- Aggie signed peace with rome and wants me to just let him sign peace with Greece. I dont want that.
- aggie abandomned Mycenae. There were too many anemies surrounding it...
in the end turn:
- nothing

ERIKK
12-05-2003, 08:18
Aggie has abandomned Mycenae but got peace with Rome and Greece after 5 or 6 turns. Just as my main bulk arrived I lose the Greek allies... :(

I am not allowed to renew the alliances. We agreed to stop the MA abuse for this game. Too bad as this was a real war on my part!

I will stay at war with aggie until turn 197 (after the Korea and Egypt MA of 20 turns ends). I had some long thoughts about attacking (stepping into his territory) with 7 knights and a sword and merc or not. As his Riders move that fast he must be able to attack me before I will be able to attack his city. So I let it rest and will upgrade the knights to cavalry. Full retreat it is...

I lost 6 knights in the war. Aggie lost 3 Riders to me and more units to the Greeks. He also had to abandom two cities of which one important saltpetercity. All because I was there with my units ready to attack them! Aggie will take two Korean cities though and he got a leader and swapped his capital to the north. I make the most shields but am 2nd in Prod. Aggie or the Greeks have less corruption I guess.

At least I now have my money back. Too bad aggie bribed the Greeks out of the war as they had cavalry just now. Lets hope he paid dearly fot his peace with Rome and Greece!!!

ERIKK: congrats with a great victory! You became friends with the AI while they hated me. That and your research of Electricity won you the game ;)
