It's Demigod and we have a great starting location! After settling
another cow, wheat on flood plain and a game on woods became visible.

Short recap: yesterday evening I wrote a large summary on
our 20 turn powerplay but when posting the message (and text)
got lost. Furious as I was I refused to rewrite it.

techs
Celts start with Pottery and CerBur - that is not a good trade
position. 1 option is Myst but there are 4 AI's that start
with CerBur

Anyway, I tried a Myst gamble and lost. Although I met the
Arabs in turn 8, the Indians in turn 11 and the Babs in turn
25 I got shoved big time. The Indians beat me a few turns and
the fucking Arabs and Arabs wouldn't trade equally for Marsony
and Myst. I am now 2 techs behind the 3 AI's (BW + WC) and pay
2gpt. That was the best I could do AFAIK. Right now I decided
to go for the Math - Currency way as I am sure KingReno will
win the Writing - Philo run.

farmersgambit
Somehow KingReno gains more points than me. As I am Agri and
there are no huts I must be growing faster! So his points
must be gained by techs/contacts/a_connected_lux. I am playing
a 100% farmersgambit. As there are so many bonustiles I had at
a certain moment 3 cities, 1 worker and only 1 warrior.

Overview turn 25 - Arabs to the N (NW?), Indians to the NE, Babs
to the ? Seems I am piece of land stuck out towards the south.
Sending settlers north to grab the lands ASAP seems wise.

interesting city placement..... I'd have done it differently (a bit), but then - I know the map ;) Still, looks like you make very good use of the land here!

I wonder how you would place them... The 3rd city was pure to grab a lux. I need to lower the
lux rate.

Oh I would have had the second city on the incense (lux rate!), but I'd have taken the other incense. Then, No. 3 moves down and east one tile (river and coast).

But looking a tthe map now I see that tile may NOT be a river tile (the known river corner bug).

Short update - turn 34

Recent turns I met the Egyptians, Incas and Persians. I only lack
contact with KingReno. Thanks to the Egyptians I managed to trade
BW and WC. Now I only lack IW and TW. I havent seen any Writing yet,
I guess KingReno either not has it yet or is waiting to trade it.

The Map in turn 34:
I met the Egyptians in the center, the Babs in the west-center. My
bet is that Egypt is far west, Babs a little to the west, then the
Arabs and Indians in the centre. The Incas are little to the east of
the center and the Persians in the far east. That leaves KingReno
(Rome). I guess he is in the northeast, behind the Persians but I am
not sure. More scouting is needed to find out the shape of the world.

AFAIK I am extremely lucky to have contacted all AI's yet. Most of
them were wandering in the jungles between India and Arabia for some
reason.

Another update:

In turn 35 KingReno found me with a curragh. He came from
the east. That was fucking fast and means he is closeby. We
agreed on a non-agression till Industrialization - because
things will be a bit complicated since we are that close.

In turn 39 the fucking Indians grab my Ivory. They settle
1000 miles from their cap!!!! The damn spot is much closer to
Entremont than to Delhi! This sucks - it is my 2nd lux, I have
only 1 now (AFAIK). The next turn the put another city far
south...:( But then in turn 41 a nothern Indian city is destroyed!
Seems they are at war - I hope with the Arabs but after establishing
an embassy I see it is Babylon they are fighting.

Incas won the Philo race somewhere around turn 47 (real fast)!
KingReno is way behind - he still lack 3 level1 techs + IW, Myst
and Math. He went for pottery first but then lost the writing race.

As you can see the research tempo is very high in this game. Also:
Egypt already has 10 cities since turn 45. Some AI's really rock in
this game!

Turn 51: There are 2 settlers underway. There seems to be land in
the east. Near the ivory there is a wine. One settler is going there.
The other one is heading for the silks in the southeast.

It puzzles me where the Babs and where the Egyptians live. One must
live in the NW and one close to KingReno. He says he has 2 opponents
closing in on his lands. One is Persia.
