My capital is a growth monster with two irrigated wheat on flood, I do not even have need of a Granary. But I didn't really use my settler-fomr-a-hut smartly; he founded Medina. Not too great......
Order of busines:
Get a city plunked down near the Ivory&wheat combo.
Produce workers!
Grab the silks and incense (out west) with cities.

Don't be too pissed. Grah is no stronger than Justus or Gozpel or me. But he's a very "clean" player. IIRC, I played my turns in some SG after him and it was very pleasant since virtually no adjustments to cities were needed. Well, I guess he played after Gozpel, so it has been the same for him apparently. He'll surely squeeze every shield and gold piece out of the map but you have experience.

well, here we go with the ass whopping: grahamiam just informed me he made it into the middle ages. I have 3 to go on Constr, 4 on Col. OUCH!

Somehow I totally failed to cope with ym extremely food rich but prod poor core. Lots of floodplains.
