View Full Version : How Many Supporters You Got?

Melifluous

Fairly simple question, how many people pay you each and every year to watch you play?

ProPain
22-11-2004, 13:40
ahem, us low division teams have less than 800 sups. I currently have 667 sups, and getting +16 every week.

Shabbaman
22-11-2004, 13:46
It's pretty hard to gain a lot of supporters right now. My league is pretty hard, so I lose about every other game. Once my supporters are happy, they're getting unhappy. In the last two seasons combined, I gained only 100 supporters.

Kemal

Heh, I'm only at 331 supporters atm, getting +4/+8 every week atm... relegation really hit my original club of 500 hard.

Oops my bad...

Its just that I'm in the lowest division in England and I've got 1170 supporters.

Also is there any relationship between no. of supporters and how many people turn up for a match?

Its just that I've recently expanded my stadium to 26700 and filled it in my first home match ;)

[crazyeye] 1170 supporters, wow, I am increasing numbers for weeks but still far away from your 1170.

[tongue]There is a connection between your supporters and the number of people showing up, if you use hattrick organiser you can see the relationship in your matches. In general, the more supporters you have the more people will show up.

[EDIT] I've just increased my stadium to 25000 but I don't expect it to be full for the next matches, maybe if I promote to the 6th divisioin or if I stay in the cup for a longer period than 3 matches.

If you want to see the relationship between the number of supporters and the number of sold seats, play a little with an arenasizer. 27000 is even a bit on the low side for 1100 supporters. I've got 1100 and have just expanded to 33000 (which is optimal for 1200 supporters).
How many people show up also depends on the weather and on the mood of the supporters. I remember that I had either pouring rain or annoyed supporters in all my home matches in the first half of the previous season. That led to some serious financial problems...

Melifluous
22-11-2004, 17:26
Many thanks for that Shabby...

Will use the extra money from that Full Arena to expand that little bit more.

£128,000 pounds for a full Stadium and 30,000 plus from my ecstatic Sponsors ;)

There was a discussion about that on the Romanian conferences. It seems that the number of supporters is indirectly influenced by the division you're in. For Netherlands last division (IX) the top teams have 540 supporters while in England's last division (VI) the top teams have over 1700 supporters. The increase from a week to the other depends on the result last week, how happy your supporters are, what is your current number of supporters but also what division are you playing in.
Oh, and I have 1492 fans.

Melifluous
22-11-2004, 17:56
Ordered another 8500 seats. Will be ready for my next home match.

Have heard people say that price of expanding the Arena is going up so now is as good a time as any...

I have around 630 or 650 supporters and apparently stadium expansion is long overdue but I'm making good cash now (about + 30K/week on average without selling anyone) and don't want to go into debt to get the expansion. If cashflow continues, I'll have enough money to upgrade the arena close to the end of the season.

English_brit
23-11-2004, 02:11
I've got over 1400 supporters and a 45,000 stadium which I'm getting close to selling out. Looks like I'll need to upgrade it before the increased expansion costs come in. When are they being introduced Meli?

From season 25 (which starts late January 2005), the costs for expanding your arena will be doubled compared to today. In the season after that, it will increase even more. The reason for this change is that these prices have fallen behind while all other costs have gone up since season 1 when these prices were set.

At 395 now [blush], but the good news is that today, 11 new supporters signed up, compared to 4 per time on all previous occassions... could that have to do something with the certainty of becoming league champion since yesterday, or perhaps with the fact that the Dutch competition will be expanded to 10 leagues starting next season, with the mods having decided to up the increase of supporters gained for all other, higher leagues a bit already?

Or should I just be very happy to gain 22 new supporters in a single week? [cool]

Dell19
10-01-2005, 14:10
15 new supporters signed up for me which was suprising since I lost 6 supporters over the two games last week.

yndy
10-01-2005, 20:37
They have changed the supporters formula effective this morning. Clubs in lower leagues now receive higher increases which will continue until the new higher equilibrium levels are reached. Teams in top 2-3 leagues see little change but we're not in that case.

Some new teams in Romania complained of receiving only 100 supporters when their team was set up today. Either bug or we'll be considered lucky to have started with 500. Also dutch league to be expanded to 10 divisions, seems there's a lot of demand there.

By the way, I reached 1600 supporters today [coool]:D[cool]

Dell19
10-01-2005, 20:55
100 supporters seems to be very low. The starting stadium of 7000 would actually be too large. It would also have some very serious long term effects in that those new teams will struggle to ever catch up with teams that joined half a season ago. I wonder if England will ever get a VII league.

Personally I think they've broken the supporters this season.

Not that I'm complaining.

I've not won a league match all season and only won 1 cup match and my supporters are therefore irritated.

And yet I'm still getting 3 new supporters sign up at each and every opportunity.

It would appear that promoting out of the VIth only to go back next year wont be so bad after all...

Currently on 1452 supporters [goodjob]

They seem to have made it much much easier to gain supporters and virtually impossible to lose them. I gained 27 this week after winning 2-1, 2-1 and now have 972. I might just get to a 1000 this time next week.

I'm having 932 supporters now after winning 4 league matches. May be it is to compensate for increased arena upgrades? But maximal increase seems to be 13-14 twice per week and no more can be gained apparently.

No, they changed it because new teams start with 100 supporters. But I think it's good, I disliked how the supporters ran away after a loss. Two seasons ago I finished fourth in a strong league, but it had netted me 0 supporters.

It's hard to say at what point it will fall off as the changes to the formula which decide how many fans teams attract only changed recently. My guess it it won't really slow down for you for quite a while as you're a newer team, probably not until you're well above 1000 fans.

Ask someone who is winning most of their games but who has more fans already and see how many new fans they are attracting and you should get a good idea at what point it will start to slow down.

There's probably some sites out there with information on this just I don't know of any. Sorry I can't be of any more help.
