Thought a place for assorted graphical mods would be nice. With assorted I mean nice and / or usefull. CFC has a lot of them but the modforum is messy and contains a lot of junk.

Since I don't want to just pick someone elses work it may be best to post links and / or reference to the modcreator. Please advice!

Anyway here is the thicker border mod I use. Example is on the site and even more in my recent spoilers.

And the all female good looking advisors!

I have a big list of mods somewhere, I will dig it out later tonight.

Another one I really like are the improved resources. These are much easier to detect on disclosed tiles and there hardly is a difference for undisclosed to tiles so the cheatlevel is about 0. Got them from CFC, author Taé Shala.

15.06KB

Then there is Snoopy of course, couple of megs. Very nice terrain and it is much easier to spot the type of tile:

There also seems to be a mod that shows citizenmood with smilies, someone got that or a link?

I use Sn00py's terrain, Tae Shala's resource improvements, and cornmaster's cool borders (in the CFC Graphical Mod forum - I'll get a link soon) - they make the game a whole lot better

here you go, this one is for C3C, but they are also available for ptw. this saved my eyes over the summer in CFC SG BZ9, as trying to figure out moods in large cities on sid using the standard graphics is a disaster waiting to happen [lol]

I agree - I use a mod that covers both regular citizens and specialists -> including teamcolor of both types.

And the thing with fat borders you all seem to have - is it because of visibility?

For resources I use 1 that pounder made - since the beamed version somehow fucked up (I have a screenshot of it that I ll upload later on...say December when I get around to it)

anyway - anyone want to learn about the marginal prospensity to consume (or whatever it is called in English) [crazyeyes]

Paal: I use the borders (by Corn) because they are easier to see..and they just look cooler, I guess.

I have it but the shields/food are not showed correct. Only when you move over the mouse they show. Anybody know how to fix this?

ERIKK; dunno if you have done it, but the first post in the metal mod thread says that city view resources are fixed now :)

Question: Are all these modpacks acceptable for PBEM games?
Especially the "resouces with labels" that Beam posted in the third post...
I tried that one at home last night and though the labels (smilies) stay within the gridlines, they can be seen underneath the fog on unexplored tiles. Now I'm not an expert fog-gazer, so I don't know if the luxuries can also be seen from underneath the fog on unexplored tiles when using normal graphics, but if this is not the case then doesn't that graphics mod give an unfair advantage?

I'd say unless all players accepted the specific mod in question, any mod that would give any kind of in-game advantage over the other player(s) is automatically unacceptable. So that would in my opnion include being able to spot resources/luxes that the other cannot, or not as conveniently, in the standard graphics set of the game.

This one alternates between title screens:

@Kemal: I agree. Which is why I switched bak to the normal resources... :)

I see the resources point, although the main reason I use them is to identify new strat resources in already explored terrain as some of the standard ones are really hard to spot in explored terrain. Maybe some editing will solve the issue, I'll see what I can do there.

Perhaps we should bring in Cracker to discuss this ...
