Turn 9:
Since I'm not an expansionist civ, it took me a couple of turns before I could explore. Nice to see catle and gems in the neighbourhood :)

Can't say that we have to deal with friendly neighbours though [:o]

Turn 10:
I also notice a second cow and wheat. I think I choose the wrong direction in turn one. But how could I know? But let's not complain :)

umm, sorry Aggie! if you'd stayed put you'd of got that cow in your 21, hmmm, guess I didn't think that one through too far.
Still, at least you've spied out some nice stuff for the next city :D

Indeed Dr. Alimentado. I though that I had to gamble and guessed wrong. But as far as I can see, city nr two will be fantastic!

The Mongols are my neighbours [cry]

Turn 98:

We are pathetic!!!

I am very lucky to have two luxuries and also one of them to trade. So I traded the world map with China:

Jack hasn't got horses and only one lux.

We both don't have map making yet, but the AI is building Sun Tzu [aargh]

And I notice that my both neighbours are at war. I saw a battle. I still haven't got lit to check it out via diplo...

Turn 102:

With 7 techs behind, Jack managed to conquer 3 cities from the Ottomans.

Turn 103:

I can't wait any longer. I attack Tabriz with 6 bowmen and conquer it. I'm in a golden age naturally. Income jumps with 20 gpt. I hope to take out two more cities before making peace.

Sorry, I thought you were off line

Aggie

Things are not looking good. I should have waited.....

EDIT: make a note: stop playing at 1 am when you're tired after a terrible working week.

Turn 106: I just manage to liberate one of the two cities that the Mongols took last turn.

What worries me more: I attacked while having a gpt-deal with them, to be expired in 3 turns :(

Hi Aggie :) I'm following this game with great interest, any chance of some nice pics of your empire (demanding aren't I ;))

btw - why couldn't you wait any longer to attack the mongols?

Aggie

DrAlimentado, I will post tomorrow. Promise :)
Why didn't I wait? I'm an idiot [cry] I think I was too sleepy and also to much confusing it with another PBEM I was playing.

I also know the experience of booting up the turn the next day only to think "OMFG!! what the hell was I smoking last night!!!" [lol]

Turn 109:

Uruk was from the Mongols for two turns. One of the wines was part of a trade with China. You can imagine what happened with my reputation when I lost the city [help]

This is my land. I may be able to capture Canton and Mandalgovi, but no-one will trust me anymore:

Losing your rep so early is really painful!

Aggie

You can all make fun of me: I give up, I lost from the AI :( And from myself. One fatal error was enough to blow my chances.

A real pity, losing your rep like that. You did manage to grow rather well. Perhaps I got lucky that in how it turned out, I knew I had to go build up for war almost right away when the Ottomans stole the wheats from under my nose.
Also with the Mongols fighting China, they focused on war sooner and thus had a bigger and more dangerous military than the Otto's turned out to have.

Losing your rep is not reason to give up aggie!

If there are other reasons so be it, but losing your rep or even a city or two is not the end!

Aggie

anarres, without a human player I would have continued. But Jack was way ahead in tech, commerce and expansion while I was facing the loss of another two cities.

You already gave up!!! [eek]

Hmmm, only you two can tell if all chances were gone at this stage of the game... But I understand that Aggie gives up (with losing two cities and his rep. (allthough your rep comes back after some time (as in our game))), instand of playing a lost game.

My most important reason to play PBEM is to have an enjoyable game. And it should be enjoyable for my opponent as well. I wonder if Jack would have liked a game in which his strongest opponents were the AI instead of me. He can play a single playergame to have that. I would have tried a comeback against others opponents, but I know the level of skill Jack has.

By the way ERIKK, my rep never improved in our game. I wasn't able to make gpt even at the end.
