So, I just played turn 28.

Jack has been replaced by Beam, who has been replaced by Rcoutme.

Summary:
There have been attacks in the mid west. I abandoned a city. Jack built one next to it, but abandoned the turn after. I built one next to that, which is still there, after heavy fighting!

A few turns back, the wounded Macedons retreated, and now it's a bit spooky? Where to attack, where to expect an attack!

When opening turn 28, I was completely surprised by massive Macedon landing in what now is Syria. Two stacks landed:
-7 HCs south of undefended antioch, where I just happen to have completed my FP one or two turns ago.
-15 HCs and 1 sword between Antioch and Beirut.

Though completely surprised, my realm is power producing HCs. Good for me, they happen to be travelling to the front, thus can easily be ordered to do otherwise. It appears I can get 6 HCs into Antioch, and they all win their battles. A bit lucky, yes, but the odds were absolutely mine!

I am absolutely puzzled by Rcoutme's dicision to split up his forces. His size 16 stack is not even near a city or terrain that costs 1 mp.....
Would he have landed all units near Antioch, he would have had a 99% opportunity to raze my FP city!

Lessons one in warfair: don't split up your forces.

Though the south is pretty poorly defended (that could be trouble some), a Stack of HCs, is on its way now (3 tiles NW of Antioch, I think).

I'm confident to survice this attack, without too many losses. I already am strong compared to Macedons.

I will simply continue to carry out my strategy: Road to the northwest, and build a city, one tile west of the tile with wine (the Macedon HC is gone :). It will be heavily defended!

Can I build on woods in this scenario?

I did build a city on the wood tile, south of the fish.
Last turn, I used 1 army and 23 HCs to conquer Byzantium. I think 7 hoplites and 6 pr 7 HC's were killed. I lost a dozen HCs.

I can keep it easily, since it is surrounded by 2 movement point tiles, in the west.

Rcoutme's forces are now seperated. My guess is he got most of his units in Byzantium. MAssive reinforcement is coming from the south, and my wounded HCs are recovering. I should be able to take over the Asian part of the Macdon empire soon!
