Volcanoes

Volcanoes !? Weird stuff... OK : they blow some pollution and destroy things around, but I want to be precise if possible.

First : do they destroy cities only, or also units passing by ?

Second : Everything is safe from a volcano if it's at least 2 tiles away from it, right ? (ie. only one free tile between it and the volcano itself)

Third : Can a volcano erupt more than once in a game ? If not, then I assume that we can wash the dirt around, and then settle just next to the volcano safely ?

I think that's it. Someone on this site might also be very interested by the answers !! :D

A Volcano can destroy everything next to it.. this includes a city.
I once tried a 20k cultural challenge in a city next to a vulcano...[sad]
2 tiles away is safe.
A volcano can erupt multiple times.

Damn, the one thing I wasn't sure of is the number of possible eruptions... So it's quite... hopeless to settle near a volcano that has already erupted. [}:)] [}:)] [}:)]
