(Sorry for the sucky pictures, I made gifs for faster upload but
forgot shrink them)

French invasion forces finally we able to start the offensive as the
deadline (turn 255) was met.

But..., they soon found out that the Indians had completely dug
themselves in! Therefore an alternative plan was made up! Thessaloniki
seemed to be one of the few cities NOT protected by an tank army and
soon was taken over by our brave landing party. 1 veteran infantry
group defending the city was run over.

Marines land in the southeast:

The marines will have a hard time defending Thessaloniki with all
those tank armies closeby but the Indian defensive structures will
help them a lot!

Meanwhile on the eastern seaboard the French navy has been mopping up
the Indian fleet. The French outnumber the (known) Indian fleet by
no less then 10 to 1. Two Indian Destroyers were sunk. A third one
was located more to the south.

First sea encounters:

At the east-west frontline things stayed quiet. Both parties have
fortified the lines and have dug in. A frontal Indian attack with
numerous tank armies is not unthinkable though...

Optimistic French propaganda! One of the French generals shouted out loud "TERING" when she (definately) scouted the motivated Indian defences in Cologne. Just note the imperialistic way of French mapmaking, in reality there is just ocean between Cologne and those rural french areas.

Thanks to India, the French knew exactly where to land! ;)

oh well, I guess we need to land somewhere else the next time... [hmm]

[u]Let the slaughter begin.</u> [evil]

SW stack:

Arties bombard until Tanks are on top:
- Cav army kills 3 Tanks :)
- Three Tank armies kill 9 Tanks.
- Tank vs Tank. French losses: 9. Indian Losses: 4.
- Tank vs Inf. French losses: 5. Indian Losses: 1.
- Tank vs Mech. (all redlined). French losses: 3. Indian Losses: 0.
- Tanks finish the remainder of the former SoD. French losses: Inf 1, Tank 4.
- India acquires 4 French arties.

That's the brief history of the SW stack. 25 French Tanks vs 5 Indian ones. [party]

NE stack:

Same Artie recipe for the NE stack, Tanks are on top:
- Two Tank armies take out 4 Tanks and move somewhere else.
- Tank vs Tank. French losses: 14. Indian Losses: 3. (After 8 Tanks India and France are average in F3 :)). These odds are quite in favor of India, many fights were a very close call however.
- Most of the French stack is damaged and a variety of units is used to terminate it, including 3 Elite Cav killing 2 redlined Mechs and a 2HP Tank! India loses 2 more Tanks. The stack is eliminated and another 8 Arties are in the Indian arsenal.

Since leaving them in the arsenal is a real pitty they damage 3 Marines in the SE outback. Thess is recaptured by a Tank, same Tank kills a 4th red-lined Marine. Three infs eliminate the 3 just shot by the Arties.

Not much else to shoot at. India is eagerly awaiting the next French invasion force. De koffie is van de bruine.

Well, I guess we need to go nuclair or spaceship, right?

India is too weak to attack France and France cant destroy India but is superiour on F11.

Welcome back Erikk!

Never imagined that the Aussies could turn someone into a cowardish pacifist. ;) Fight! [duelist]

We have decided to draw the game and start another one instead.

Congrats on Beams defences (check the pics with all those bunkers!). He did 'drove me back into the sea'!

Erikk and me exchanged a couple of e-mails today discussing if we are going to resume the game.

Outcome: we call it a draw. (Sidenote: we are exactly equal in civscore)

Since we play each other for fun we also will start Erikk vs. Beam V.

Many thanks to Aggie for the map he made for us. [worship]
