Rather than just start a random map it's better to have a custom map made to order.
I won't make the map myself (that would obviously be unfair!)

I've posted a request for a 3rd party to make us a map in the map request thread (http://www.civ3duelzone.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=127&whichpage=2)

this way we get the workaround for the correct difficulty level, and all the benefits of having a person look over the starting positions rather than trusting to the games randomness. (this should eliminate one of us having a bundle of bonuses/luxuries and the other being on tundra etc.)

as soon as we get the map we can start :)
