* Small map
* Pangaea (I'm talking real Pangaea)
* 4 AIs (random)
* No barbarians
* Deity
* Maximal aggression!
* Normal settings for everything (i.e. temperate, normal, 4 bil)
* Victory types all normal (conquest, domination, space, UN, cultural) except wonder
* No respawn, no culturally linked start, no kings/queens/VP and other weird things like elimination

akots will be Japan
I will be the Iroquois

Please randomly determine who is player 1

A final request: akots is keen that this is a balanced map, but more specifically that either we both get our 'required' resource (Iron for Japan, Horses for Iros) or possibly neither of us does. Since this is max agression I suggest we both get what we need! No being clever and placing our required resource exactly between us and an AI or it will be total luck as to who gets what.

Good luck and thanks to the map maker!

Oh, I guess this should be 1.22 now, so we both need to send you our passwords right? When we know who is doing it we will PM you...

Can you please explain about password? We don't get the first turn played then?

Got it :D

I'd love for you to guys to play this on 1.22, you could be my guinea pigs :)

anarres, please change the title to "In Pogress (Skyfish)" [rolleyes]

Akots : you are right we can not handcreate maps since PTW1.14 where we could save the turns at any time (now you can only save at the end of the turn).
So in order to create a balanced map the MapMAker has to go thru the FIRST turn (4000BC) for both players and then send a save of 3950BC to player 1, the only disadvantage is that the AIs settle one turn before you but you will find that for a player fo your level thsi does not cause a a problem at all.
Also since the Maps are balanced, you can not get "rushed" by a close AI and PBEMs play *at least* one level lower than SP.

Now with 1.22 we have a very secure procedure to prevent turns being unduly opened so I will need your own pw and the admin pw will stay secret.

I will make a nice post on this new pw procedure soon , bare with me please :)

The new process (not yet printed in public [rolleyes]) is to PM the map maker with your password and they will enter it and skip the first turn for us. The Admin password will be kept secret by the map maker in case of emergencies, and we start the game in turn 2.

If the map makers are feeling extra nice they could even add 1 turn to the '50 years per turn' group and start us in 4050BC, so we still start in 4000BC. Another 'nice' feature is if they start the AI's on mountains, so they can't settle on the first turn. :)

Please nothing extremely sadistic. It would be a tough enough game by itself. And starting AI on the mountain is a good idea too. Or (AND) us on the river with food bonus.

Edited: password pm'd.

I'm still thinking, if the map is not ready yet, of deleting Mobilization from the Nationalism tech. It is still overpowered IMO. However, not sure whether anarres would object. But we are not so hopeless players so are supposed to finish killing AI and each other before Nationalism on Pangea. Hope, my Samurai or his MW will do all the job. Hence, may be it is not important...

Now they force all builds to switch to military you can't build ANY improvements or wonders while mobilised. Any non-mil builds are lost when you switch. This is the weakest mobilisation has ever been, so I am not sure how it is still overpowered. [hmm]

Ok, I'm fine if you think it is not overpowered.

Well, I am happy to be convinced if you have strong feelings on it...

BTW, if this was made with 1.22 then SGLs are always OFF. Maybe Sky can confirm what version this is made with.

This is 1.22 but sorry anarres, despite what Tavis seemed to say, the option "Allow SGL" is ON as standard.
If you need it any differently please tell me so...

akots

OK, we are starting then. Just need to make mirror install for 1.22 and would try to play today. There were some unclear things about the rules. Do we need to settle them down before the start? Or would do this in the process?
