Here the spoiler to the newest game, Snowman was looking for some PTW-gaming and I just couldn't say no (even though I should have since I have tests coming up). Level is Monarch.

Since I promised not to bother anyone about PTW-maps anymore, I randomly created this map myself and then checked if Snowman wanted to play like that. To make it fair I gave him my starting position so he would know what he was dealing with.
We wanted a map with continents, but it certainly looks like pangea right now. Well, at least most of the civs are on that continent and I already met Snowman north-east. He actually killed my scout, so I'll have to be careful in the future.

Anyways, we started with something like 23 turns on our first day, this is turn 43:

You can see the ruins of an abandoned city. It was a free one (gotta love Monarch, tons of Techs and good stuff instead of the usual barbarians you get at higher levels) and I decided to move it to a better location.

I felt kinda bad because it looks like I screwed up and selected pangea instead of continents, plus I seem to have a pretty good start. Also, Snowman is kinda new and I didn't want to scare him of. I was actually going to gift him all my first-level techs, but he sounded pretty confident (after me repeatedly asking him if he wanted to start over, he apparently was worried that I wanted to quit). Plus he shed the first blood, so we're on now. [evil]

While we are at it, here also a short update about the game vs Snowman...

Since I have no horses near my starting territory, my settler has to go a long way south. I hope it won't be such a dilemma as in the game vs Arghis (where the city flipped, despite having a temple!!!).

But if everything goes well I shall have 5 luxury ressource pretty soon. That ought to be enough for the time being.

I realize that I have a severe advantage compared to Snowman. I feel very bad about it but he insists of continuing and I gave up on offering a restart.

He does have the mighty Gallic Swordsmen, but nevertheless I hope to make it quick. [fdevil]

The game progressed very fast, usually 2+ turns a day.

As you can see I have a little advantage largely due to my superior starting position. Because of that I decided to finish this game asap, going straight for Military Tradition. This is the first turn where we actually have some action, he had 2 Pikemen, a Horseman and a Catapult on that hill, I lost one Cavalry taking it.
The AI was never a huge threat, btw, things were just going to fast. Even though they were on the same tech level with me most of the time, they barely had the infrastructure to connect the strategic ressources. So it was an easy fight and it actually helped that Snowman formed some MAs (pretty much the same way it helped in the game vs Killer). [cool]

Even though Snowman has the GL, I was able to get to Cavalry without him being able to get Gunpowder. [evil] I do expect him to develop it soon and also to have his troops ready now to welcome me. Yet I see little hope for him, I have Education in 2 turns so the GL should be worthless, not that it really matters since the AI is to weak now anyways...

Well, thank you, but it's not over yet. I do have to admit it's looking good though. Snowman increased the stack near Taejon to 5 Gallic Swordsmen and 4 Medieval Infantries, but I don't think they'll be a huge threat. I just captured the Korean cities a few rounds ago (figured it'd be easier to just capture them instead of a ROP [:p]), so they are not of any importance to me. And I have enough units ready to take them out one after another. Meanwhile my main force is advancing toward his capital, Trondheim is already mine by now.

This was my last 1on1 PBEM I had going, right now I'm just too busy with my university. But I hope I can start some new ones soon, I think I'd prefer playing directly over Internet then since it's just more time-effective, imho.
