It might be old news, but with Conquests you can play PBEM's with turn based/simultaneous and the other way around! This should be very handy when doing powersessions. :) You don't have to keep sending the game over.

How do you change from turn-based to simultaneous in the middle of a game then ?

Well, you have to save it first. But basicly there's almost no difference between turn based and simultaneous.

Got loads of those on the HD, what's the magic trick Matrix?

Get to the multiplayer hosting screen (e.g. main menu -> multiplayer -> Hotseat), load the savegame, choose game type (PBEM/turn based/etc), and...play your turn/get connected.

Should look like this IIANM. To be correct 210a should be selected as it is the incoming game right?

I guess a solid broadband is a requirement to go simultaneuous.

btw, Matrix can you please respond in Mapmaking for your game vs. Shabba?

Solid broadband isnt even needed, a good comp is. I played on ISDN with results that were as good as on the 2mb/s connection I have now. Sadly this does mean it's quite slow. There's a delay in moving units that takes a while to get used too and is not caused by connection speed as I also have that on my LAN.

I have exactly the same experience on moving units. Just learn to count to ten slooowly.

It doesn't matter who's turn it is, or who started the game, cos you can change who plays who by clicking on the number before your name until your Civ shows up. :)

Good discovery this! Too bad I cannot join the experiments with this, because I used to quite like MP before I started PBEM-ing..

I wonder if that also works for the 1.18. After all, that would be really nice. Don't you lose your password once you've played online?
