The Netherlands (http://www.straland.com/download/Netherlands.zip)

This map just shouldn't be missing. Not when I'm around. ;)

The fact that there are no mountains, no tundra, and very little hills and 'deserts' (=beach or dike) made it hard to have the resources adequately divided. I didn't want to mess with the rules. The 'terpen' in Friesland, Groningen and a bit in North-Holland were useful though. ;)

Also it's a 100x100 map which might be a little too big. And while making the map I noticed I made the Netherlands too big in comparison with the map size: it didn't fit, so Limburg is only there partially; even a bit of Zeeland is missing.

The starting locations are: every capital of a province, except Maastricht, plus Amsterdam and the Hague.

All in all, I think it's fun to play; for a Dutchman. [:p]

Alicia Silverstone (http://www.straland.com/download/Alicia.zip)

A huge map, but for eight players.

Have fun. [cool]

Doom Player (http://www.straland.com/download/DoomPlayer.zip)

# two in the series "model" Civ3 maps. ;)

Beach Girl (http://www.straland.com/download/BeachGirl.zip)

Last one of the kind. But not least I suppose. ;)

This map cannot be found at CFC! (forum rules)

Somebody has too much time on there hands.

EDIT: hmmm a city name of "Beaver" would seem appropriate for a couple of these maps

Deathmatch I (http://www.straland.com/download/deathmatch.zip)

Eight Civs start with roughly equal power, and all technologies. The world is full; there's only one way to expand: through conquest. The only way to win this game is by conquest.

So this is a pure warmongers deathmatch. The trick is to make the right allies in the beginning and gain as much as you can from war.

http://www.straland.com/images/Civ3/deathmatch.gif

The colours don't matter; everyone may pick every Civ (s)he likes. :)

Some additional info:
Almost all cities have 1000 culture and are size 13 (though some shrink the first turn).
The only units you have in the beginning are two mech. inf.'s per city and six workers.
Everyone owns just one of every strategic resource, except iron: two.
Everyone owns eight pieces of the same luxury. Each Civ has it's own luxury resource.
Almost all cities have the same improvements. All except: stock market, research lab, manufacturing plant, recycling center, any plant (except nuclear when possible). Some have: harbor, airport, offshore platform, commercial docks.
There are no Great Wonders. Small Wonders are not yet built, except Manhattan Project which is now a [u]small</u> wonder.

Happy hunting! http://forums.civfanatics.com/images/smilies/rocket.gif

Deathmatch II (http://www.straland.com/download/deathmatch2.11.zip)

Here's my second Deathmatch scenario; built for multiplayer, but you might as well play against AI. :)

You start out with all technologies and the world is full as you can see. There are only two ways to win: domination or conquest.

Have fun. :)

That's the same reaction I got at CFC. [rolleyes]

Only on Beach Girl. Alicia Silverstone (http://www.straland.com/images/Alicia/Alicia19.jpg) actually has clothes on. ;)

Tried the Alicia Silverstone map, lots of mountains, happy I picked INcas for quick scouting. Noticed there's a lot of wetlands in the groin area. You're a DOM matrix

I'm a whatta?

Anyway, it's really not that much work. Once I have made the map in Paint Shop Pro it goes very fast drawing it over in the editor.

And I don't think Alicia is really a good play. Doom Player is funny because there are lots of jungles. And Beach Girl is just a normal pangaea map. :)

Pah, who'd miss that? For a new map you should consider to draw belgium and luxembourg in as well. Those are historically (and rightfully ;) ) dutch territories.

I know, it's a wretchy map. I'm following a course Fysical Geography of the Netherlands in which I will learn about where what type of land is and has been, and then I'll probably be able to make a more decent map.
Perhaps a historical scenario of our struggle for independence... http://www.straland.com/images/smilies/idea.gif

Deathmatch III (http://www.straland.com/download/deathmatch3.biq)

This one is with Conquests. :)

Every city has all peaceful improvements (nuclear plant when possible, otherwise solar plant), but no military except for barracks, walls, harbours and airports. The capital has Wall Street, the second city Forbidden Palace and the third Secret Police Headquarters. Every city also has two veteran mech. inf.'s. Other small wonders are not yet built.

Your entire land is covered by radar towers, defended by a vet. mech. inf..

Every civ has eight sources of one luxury, and one source of every strategic resource. Those Civs unfortunate to start spread over more than one continent start with transports and destroyers.

There are no great wonders (all 'obscolete' with Integrated Defense [:p]) except Manhattan Project and United Nations.

Now (http://www.straland.com/download/Now.biq)

Version 2.1
A Conquests scenario.

The division of countries into Civilizations is based on De Grote Bosatlas, with a few differences.

http://www.straland.com/images/Civ3/Now.gif

Warning: On my computer (850 MHz, 384 MB RAM) it takes 45 minutes to start the scenario and another 15 minutes to play the first turn (as Europe). After that it becomes fun. Please be patient. ;)

Awesome maps Matrix might give this last one a go. Like the idea of Australia becoming a super power.

Matrix

Thanks, tunerica. :) Beware of the last one if you have a slow computer though. On my computer (850 Mhz, 384 MB SDRAM) it takes about 45 minutes to start the scenario. [:o] But once you've started it doesn't take that long anymore. :)

Wile E. Coyote (http://www.straland.com/download/Coyote.biq)

I came accross this picture and immediately saw it's usefulness for a Civ3 picture. ;)

Kate Winslet (http://www.straland.com/download/KateWinslet.biq)

Another 'stumbled across and noticed it's usefulness' case.
I think this will be the last one for a while.

I've done some serious balancing here! (As far as I'm capable of doing so. [rolleyes])
It's a freaky map. Really...weird. [crazyeye]

http://www.straland.com/images/Civ3/KateWinslet.gif

Of course I wouldn't want to hold back the original picture (http://www.straland.com/images/ladies/KateWinslet.jpg) for you. ;)
While I'm at it, here's Alicia Silverstone (http://www.straland.com/images/Alicia/Alicia19.jpg)...
