I need some advise. I'm playing vv. Bavel (359697) this week and they're even worse than my team. They're responsible for making me rise in the league table from 8 to 7 [cool].

Their owner isn't very active, he hasn't been online since 4-1-04 and always plays a 4-4-2, never books a friendly. Also his players are scoreing less ans less stars every week. In short I need to win this game as my supporters are angry and leaving (16 last week, down to 410 already) and my players are in need of a nice league win too to boost their confidence.

I trained stamina last week as I was too late to change my line up for the friendly. So my young players wouldn't have gotten any training anyway but it was badly needed also to boost my midfield.

I'm thinking of playing 3-5-2 (experience=passable)as I have better midfield players than central-defenders, but I want some advise because I don't wanna lose this game.

Out of "the book":

quote:4-4-2, normal
General: This is the standard tactic that's also the one that 99% of all coaches will pick for their first game. It has the advantage that no players need special instructions, thereby you get the maximum performance from all-round type players.
Strengths: Good homogeneous defence, strong attacking wings and a good central attack.
Weaknesses: Weak midfield.
Best counter-tactic: Playing three inner midfielders and defensive wing defenders takes the edge off this tactic, and then attacks are preferrably made on the wings.

I don't know about the wings though, that's hard versus 4 defenders. Besides, you need good wingers, otherwise this'd fail anyway. 3-5-2 with offensive wingers, and no fancy tactics, is a pretty decent choice v.s. 4-4-2.
