View Full Version : Question about corruption in C3C 1.12

I know there must be more thread, but I will make another anyway!

I have started a game in 1.00. Played until 1000BC or so. I completed my FP near my capitol.

From this point, I installed 1.12. I have played on for about 20 turns. I got a leader and rushed a Palace quite far away. I had planned this from the start, as I want two cores.

Surprise, surprise, my FP city is 100% corrupt! And so are the cities near!

Is that correct? I had the impression that corruption would be ok after a turn or 2?

The FP doesnt give you a core any more ! It doesnt work like ptw. You need your FP closish to your palace - 5 to 10 squares is what I've seen recommended. There is a good thread at CFC.

They call it a bug, but I kinda like it! [:o]

I think the OCN boost should be more like 40 or 50% though, not the miserly 10% as it is now.

If the OCN boost is only 10%, and if an FP can not be used to make a 2nd core, I say the FP becomes pretty much useless!

What do you like about it Anarres?

I like it because the old way (2 cores) fucks the AI up every time, and means the game is over as soon as you attack your first AI and take over their land.

This way you have to be more careful about city placement and capturing AI cities near your palace (which can negatively affect the rank of cities near the FP).

It is under heavy discussion to change the way rank corruption works though and my guess is that we'll move back to the two core model in the next patch by creating two lists rather than one.

A 1.13 beta has just been posted in a private forum at CFC by Tavis (Jesse Smith) It appears to be going the way Anarres wanted.

v1.13 BETA
* Fixed Random Civ MP Launch OOS
* Adjusted Corruption Calculations
Capitals (Palace, FP, SPHQ) have very little corruption
Max Corruption is now 90%
FP & SPHQ now give 50% more cities to your optimal city count (This makes it extremely valuable to the AI)
* Secret Police HQ no longer gives effects when player leaves Communism
* Updated Civilopedia.txt Forbidden Palace to explain that all cities are still affected by distance from the Real Capital.
* Fixed Credit Typos
