Turn 57:
This game is already a drama. Not that I am doing that bad
but it is Stapel that is doing so good! He has maxed out his
expantionist threat on our standard map with max land mass...
He got an early settler (in a Deity game!), some techs and
bought 10 AI workers very early in the game. He is bigger,
stronger and way ahead in tech. His neighbours are fighting
(Germs and Dutch) and my neighbours have built directly
towards me. The Persians stole a 4-lux spot near my lands
(faw away from their lands). The Celts (my other neighbour)
are the #1 AI in this game. Their cap is far away from mine
but their cities are right next to my first ring!!! [eek]
So I am fucked with two strong AI neighbours. My solution:
expanding peacefully. This is possible as there are lots of
lands southeast of me. On quite some distance from the Germs
and Persians. It are plains and jungles, thats the reason it
isn't stuffed with AI cities yet I suppose. Also the German
war will have helped... I am building a road to a lux resource
in that place as I desperatly will need a second lux. A city
will be founded soon. A third resource is nowhere to be found!!! [cry]
Some turns ago the Mongols declared war on Stapel. Last turn
Stapels vet spear had two wins in the in-turn: frist one
promotoin to elite, second one LEADER! It was his first elite
win. So, now he also will have a very early FP! The scenario
is simple: he will be on my doorstep with Ansars very soon.
I have to figure out a way to avoid a fast defeat but with all
this luck from Stapel in this game it will be very hard... Oh,
I forgot to tell that Stapel will be a Republic next turn! [eek]
His Philosofy gamble succeeded and he got CoL from a hut or so.
Republic was his free tech. Well the good news is that he did
not got any Sci Leader yet...
