Usually, jokes lose when they are translated into another language. But this one gains, when told in english. However, only native speakers might get to the bonus twist.

A donkey was strolling around, when he suddenly faced a lion. The donkey panically hid behind a bush, waiting for his soon death. But death didn't come. The donkey peeked out of his bush and saw the lion sitting around leisurly and bored.

The donkey stepped out of the bushes. The lion looked away.

The donkey booed at the lion. The lion looked frightened and scared.

The donkey took at step ahead towards the lion. The lion took one step back. The donkey advanced another step, and the lion again withdrew.

The donkey started chasing the lion. The faster the donkey ran, the faster the lion retreated. So they ran for a while. The donkey had almost closed up to the lion.

Suddenly, with the path taking a sharp turn, there sat three lions in a round, playing cards. Said one of 'em: 'Oh, now finally he is back to pay his gambling debts, to bring forth an untouched donkey."
