So my first friendly after winning at home at the weekend.
I have played a B-team ensuring that everyone who didnt win at the weekend got a game tonight. It went as expected. 4-0 loss away from home. Still my players all have a game under their belt ;)

Full report as follows...

Mo Konjic's Army - Meli's Manglers 4 - 0

Date: 12/16/2003 at 21:00
MatchID: 13426445
Arena: Mo Konjics Army Arena
Crowd: 651

651 spectators had come to Mo Konjics Army Arena this cloudy day. Konjics tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Harle - Garcia-Torre, Hinksman, Bernard - Satyakam, Wheelan, Toland, Ritter, De Vos - Hall, Harris.

Manglers had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Cabezas - Cheesman, Spreadbury, Bhattacharya, Mason - Hautala, Weavers, Davis, Knell - Hunt, Verspoor.

After 25 minutes Konjics´s Mark Bernard contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Martin Hall gave his Konjics the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post. Gregory De Vos increased Konjicss lead to 2 - 0 by putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. The structure of the game started to change as Konjics decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Sivaramakrishnan Satyakam of Konjics received a yellow card in the 41st minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. In the games 42nd minute, Sivaramakrishnan Satyakam could have extended the lead, but his very hard free kick went just over the bar. Konjics put themselves up 3 - 0 when Martin Hall broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. The teams went for a half-time break at 3 - 0. Konjics held the ball, with a clear 83 percent possession rate.

In the 51st minute Manglerss Steve Hunt received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Konjics put themselves up 4 - 0 when Christopher Harris broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Konjics, with an impressive 88 percent possession of the ball.

The most dominating Konjics player was without a doubt Danny Ritter. Christopher Harris was a disappointment, however. Most important Manglers player was David Spreadbury. Aandarasan Bhattacharya on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 0.

hope you enjoyed it.

Been checking on my weekend opponent, he has a small squad.
I think I could do it.

OK and so my first league away match of the season against the 2nd place team - BARMY ARMY 2 [:o]

At The Pits, 12000 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. BARMY tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Barik - Baller, O'Flanagan, Antón - Willems, Segel, Regan, Aroldi, Heffernan - Careaga, Sáez.

Manglers tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Cabezas - Verspoor, Spreadbury, Turner, Mason - Knell, Hornabrook, Alistair, Quigley-Parks - Hunt, Greenwood.

Manglers were mostly trying to use the flanks for their attacks. 3 minutes into the game Walsh Greenwood was a hair´s breadth away from giving Manglers the lead. A prompt block by Dhamodraprakash Barik saved the home team that time. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 6:th minute goal by Ermegildo Sáez for BARMY, putting them ahead 1 - 0. Visitors Steve Hunt was alert on a play coming in from the left, making the score a tie at 1 - 1 in the 11th minute. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 1. BARMY held the ball, with a clear 61 percent possession rate.

BARMYs Miguel Ángel Careaga gave, after 49 minutes, the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right. 52 minutes into the game Richard Alistair had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came John Weavers. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 58 minutes might have resulted in another goal for BARMY. However, Sandy Cabezas made a spectacular save. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Paolo Aroldi squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 58:th minute, asserting the lead to 3 - 1. BARMY held the ball, with a clear 66 percent possession rate.

Most important BARMY player was Rio Heffernan. Miguel Ángel Careaga on the other hand, had a terrible day. Manglers´s best player was Alan Hornabrook. However, John Weavers made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 1.

My player will be out for 2 weeks, giving him a nice rest for the Xmas period.

Next up. Friendly against the Fake Tan No Stars, a local team who I will be playing at home. Should be a win but who can say ;)

quote:Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 1512 at Melis Manglers Arena today. Manglers had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Cabezas - Venkataraman, Sangha, Hautala - Knell, Davis, Rouvé, Elliot, Duff - Mason, Smith.

Shabba had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Severing - Goulmy, de Bruyne, Geurden - Tielens, Kamphuis, van Beusichem, van Dijken - ten Cate, Notebaart, van der Staay.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Manglers. Shabba took the lead in the games 8:th minute with 0 - 1 after some elegant plays down the middle. Rogier van der Staay was the scorer. In the 20:th minute the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as Simon ten Cate finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Shabba seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. Simon ten Cate increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 3. The away team´s Rogier van der Staay took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 28:th minute increasing Shabba´s lead to 0 - 4. By now Shabba were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. In the to 29:th minute a very unfortunate collision in the home teams penalty area led to Manglers´s Dinadhisa Sangha being carried off the pitch and replaced by Mark Verspoor. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 36:th minute Shabba goal, making it 0 - 5. Rogier van der Staay was noted down as the scorer. At that, Rogier van der Staay was noted down for a hat trick. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 5. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Shabba, with an impressive 59 percent possession of the ball.

During the break Shabba´s coach went through the teams new tactics yet again. Manglers was great at switching from defense to attack, and in the 58:th minute, Aatmaj Venkataraman swept through in the middle after such a counter attack, making 1 - 5. In the 76:th minute the home team was awarded a penalty. The guest´s keeper did dive the right way, but Aitken Elliot was still able to reduce the score to 2 - 5. In the 77:th minute Boris Smith passed through the guests central line of defense, scoring the 3 - 5 goal. Shabba appeared unsure on how to play. Shabba held the ball, with a clear 70 percent possession rate.

Most important Manglers player was Adam Davis. Angus Duff on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Shabba player was Adriaan Tielens. Rogier van der Staay on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 5.
